Did anyone else hear Pickett STAMPING through the woods with his two cronies? The Other Others we saw in Season Two were quiet and covered their tracks - even though Pickett seems like a "bad" Other, I believe we have not met the folks Jin and Eko saw yet.

Michael Emmerson accually confirmed in an interview that there were two sets. So its likley that the smothe walking ever whispering others are a different group!

But maybe there aren't other Others on Alcatraz. And they probably don't feel the need to cover their tracks on that little island, as I doubt that they expect ot find anyone other than there own kind there. No whispers in the woods on Alcatraz.

Good thinking! I think these "other Others" could have somehow been adversely affected by the first "incident" (ala Desmond, a bit) whereas as these more "Dharma focused" Others were not as they were on Alcatraz.

Is it possible that the Others just act in two different ways...a more controlled mysterious type as we've seen from the second season on the losties island or a more civilized population on Alcatraz? This is a stretch and I'm sure that it doesn't make sense but it's worth a thought.

It was definitely different thought they may not feel the need to be as stealthy on Hydra island.

The shot of the Others passing with the bare legs and bare feet, and the child with the teddy bear - those cannot possibly be the same people; because you are right even when they were on Craphole island they were loud - especially Ethan and Benry.

That's what I thought...it seemed that othersville was on alcatraz...am i incorrect?

remember the costumes that kate found in the medical hatch? i think that's all it was, they were 'dressed down'.
remember tom being all dressed up and saying, this is our island and we are letting you stay on it.' they definitely travel between the two islands.

but why isn't there a smoke monster on the new island? and i guess maybe the polar bears swam to the other island...

I agree that there are 2 separate groups. I think 1) our original Others, and 2) a younger group, having to do with Juliet's specialty in fertility treatments ?

But I like to believe that the whispers are not from that other Other group.. but is something else entirely. :)

I think the Other Others are on OUR Island with the Losties. I think they have something to do with the experiments that the Others have been doing over on Alcatraz...

Maybe the end is going to be OUR Others and the Losties against the Others (Ben & Co.)

Interesting idea! I really like it! I also think we should keep in mind that there are other distinct groups that have been on the island, as well (Adam and Eve). Could their progeny have become brainwashed by Dharma and become a more radicalized group?
