View Full Version : Juliet and Desmond's Arrival on the Island
jonboy861 02-08-2007, 01:02 AM So not only does it seem that Juliet was torn away from her pregnant sister, and somewhat forced to go to work for Dharma on the island. But also it seems she arrived on the island around the smae time Desmond's boat crashed there, I doubt there is any connection between the two of them, but I just thought that both of them have been there for about three years each. Just thught I would put my two cents in.
penyours 02-08-2007, 01:18 AM :twocents: TPTB are always sketchy about time, but I definitely agree there's importance in Desmond and Penlope both arriving three years prior.
Although they look alike I think you mean Juliet, not Penny ;)
pacejunkie 02-08-2007, 01:20 AM I agree that we will find that Desmond and Juliet arrived at the same time. I wonder what connection we may find between Widmore and Mittelos.
Amber 02-08-2007, 01:22 AM I think Penny and Juliet look so similar! Like they could be sisters.. that would be some twist hmm? I wonder what Juliet's maiden name is..
emmadoggy 02-08-2007, 01:23 AM I picked up on the connection between Desmond's time on the island and Juliet's too. Not sure what to make of it though. :undecide:
penyours 02-08-2007, 01:25 AM Maybe Juliet arrival via plane, caused a lot of turbulence in the ocean and that sucked Desmond to the island as well. That might explain how Kelvin knew Desmond arrived, since he may have been monitoring, Juliet's arrival.
MPmom 02-08-2007, 01:37 AM I posted a thread that may tie into this. Looking through the caps, I saw that on the shelf behind Edmunds desk, he had a sailing trophy. Desmond got lost during his sailboat race arouund the world. Maybe this guy was instrumental in Desmond getting lost on this particular island.
Perhaps they wanted him lost from Penny, or maybe they wanted him because of his "special" abilities to see the future.
jonboy861 02-08-2007, 01:50 AM Maybe but I am not sure he had those powers prior to the hatch imploding. Unless anyone think he did all along, and thats how he knew about Jack's "girl" problem with Sarah? And maybe when he said "I'll see you in another life" he knew he would see Jack again on the island.

There's also the hatch painting he did, that seems to predict a lot of things int he show.
Diesels Blitz 02-08-2007, 02:14 AM But I thought the island wasn't visible to the rest of the world before the turning of the failsafe key? My theory is the Others "opened" up the island for Juliet's arrival and Desmond got sucked in. He was at the right place at the right time.

I like that! :O)
peipons 02-08-2007, 06:57 PM I saw that on the shelf behind Edmunds desk, he had a sailing trophy.
Yea... I noticed that, too. And thought of Desmond
marksman 02-08-2007, 06:57 PM I agree. I also think Penny's dad arranged that as well. He likely monitored Desmond's progress and saw that he would be within the "get sucked into the island range" on such a such date, and then arranged Juliet's flight for that date, to get Desmond out of his hair.

I also like this. But Desmond seems more important than that with the Penny/Whitmore thing going on too.
feedthisobsession 02-08-2007, 08:20 PM the guys speaking portugese wondered if they had "missed it again" ... the magnetic anomoly i mean... so i'm guessing the island was visible when the losties crashed , due to the button not being pushed...

I completely agree with that. That would explain how Desmond really ended up there when no one else can find it.
Diesels Blitz 02-08-2007, 11:03 PM Thanks for liking my mini-theory. Although there is no proof that both Juliet and Desmond arrived at exactly the same time or even the same day for that matter, evidence suggests it has to be close at least.
jonboy861 02-09-2007, 11:58 AM Very true, maybe he did have these powers before he came to the island, but wouldn't he have known he wou;ld crash there ahead of time?

I had the same thought process before. In fact, I posted the same thing in Lucidity's Deception (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=58257&page=7) thread awhile back. I still believe he had these powers before he came to the island. Maybe the electromagnetism from the hatch temporarily disabled these powers from Desmond. After the hatch imploded, Desmond's ability comes back. But it still doesn't answer the question as to why he wouldn't have known he would crash on the island.
Penny's family is the widmore family and Widmore lab creates pregnancy test so there is a connection there with pregnancy
jonboy861 02-09-2007, 01:46 PM Also I was watching "Live Together, Die Alone" again, and I noticed when he and Jack were in the stadium running together and Jack said he couldn't fix Sara, Desmond said "but just one thing, what if you did fix her?" He is very adament about it, like he already knows he fixed her, and as soon as Jack goes back to Sara at the hospital she is of course, fixed.
100%
Sorry there is also the statement by Desmond "you have to lift it up", he could be seeing the future of Jack lifting up Sara's leg and testing to see if she feels his touch when she is fixed. Thanks, just my two cents.
