First, forgive me if this has been/is being discussed elsewhere. This place is big...
I'm wondering if the idea of twins is wrong (unless it's canon, then nevermind). What if the end result of impregnanting men is the creation of a clone, not a twin? Or what if the result of Juliet's injections, nomatter the sex of the injectee, is a clone, not a twin.
My head hurts. but in a good way.

thats pretty darn intriguing!!! Oh man , I just had a wild thought - some folks are referencing Rachel of biblical origin and she bore two sons, one named benjamin - others suggested that Rachel the sister of Juliet is actually a man and that the clue to that was impregnating a male mouse/rat, then throw in your thought and theories on cloning and poor aging and you get this = Ben is Juliet's nephew, the cloned son of Rachel who "has spent his entire life on this island" and Rachel appeared to be sick, Ben's tumor and he is the "bad twin"
Wow I know it sounds so far fetched, but kind of adds up too....

I was looking or another post about this but this looks like the best place to talk about it.
I think a piece of the puzzle was brought out of the dark in this epsiode... Children. The others are obsessed about them. Taking Alex from Rosseau, Taking Walt, trying to take Claire's son. Now we find out Juliet is a fertility specialist. Is the island a genetic research station? To use another genres term... are the trying to make the "Kwisatch Haderach"... Dune's superbeing? Or is it to creat a "Lord of the Flies" type social situation?
Just my ramblings.

There are some really interesting parts of this theory - the male impregnation / clone stuff. But I'm lost with the Ben is Juliet's nephew - even given "poor aging", Ben can't be anymore than 4 years old (given Juliet's admission to her time on the island and her sister had been impregnated just before she got there). Would it be possible, do you think, to create an adult clone from the building blocks of a 4 year old child? Man, I'm getting a headache!

What if the Ethan we saw in "Not in Portland" was not the Ethan we knew from the island??????
The others could have carried out some experiments concerning clonation or sth similar...this would be confirmed by the identical twins on the boat during Walt's kidnapping... Some time ago I read an interview with the actor embodying Sawyer where he invited the audience to concentrate on these characters pointing out that they would have been relevant to the story in the future...
