instead of creating numerous threads with many questions heres what i noticed and questioned:let me know any thoughts you have

1. in the scene where desmond was putting on the tie i can heard soft music in the background.my intial thought was it sounded oasis-ish then later when charlie was playing wonderwall i wondered if it was charlie playing outside though it may not be considering i think i heard a double tracked vocal. anyone know what that song was?

2. does tonights episode reveal anything about the flashbacks of previous episodes that perhaps we are seeing tainted type memeroies like desmonds somehow. perhaps jacks( since he seems to have a connction to everyone) as they flashed desmonds eye like jacks in the first episode.

3.when desmond sees charlie in the background there is a poster of something perhaps for a magazine. with a woman on the front who was blonde.they only flash it a second and though i paused it i cant tell if it was claire or not. probably not but thought id throw that out there.

4.anyone remeber in the first season people thought they saw a drowning woman but no one was there. and didnt charlie have some kind of freakout in season two about seeing the baby floating out to sea. is this a clue of some kind to tonights episode?or a deja vu of sorts

5. the song playing in the bar is the same mamas and poppas song heard in the hatch at the begining of season 2 when they introduce desmond.

6. lastly the woman from the ring store telling desmond he couldnt save the guy in the red shoes rminded me of the oracle and neo from the matrix films. as in reloaded the oracle tells neo things on a bench and in the original film offers him a cookie . may be nothing but thought id tell you all.

of course i also noticed the polar bear in the painting but i see most people caught that already.

let's get a screenshot of that blonde pic you're talking about. I didn't notice it.

1.) I loved the use of Wonderwall but I didn't hear the music when Des was putting on his tie.
4.) There was a drowning woman, Joanna drowned in the first season when Boone was trying to save her.
5.) The song, Make Your Own Kind of Music, playing in the bar is the same Mama Cass tune used when we first met Desmond int he hatch.

1. Sarah McLaughlin's "Building a Mystery" from 1997's "Surfacing" Album. I'm normally a rock and alternative fan but she is hands down one of the greatest female vocalists ever and I am a big fan of hers (though sometimes it's embarassing to admit!). She's also a fellow Canadian.

2. Interesting question. I think before we speculate on that the bigger question was 'was this really a flashback'? If he actually WAS reliving those moments then I dont' know if it has any bearing on other's flashbacks, unless those were relived moments too. (I think I just blew my mind!) However I do believe that 'the monster' whatever it is has some of it's properties in that woman Desmond met. or put another way, that woman, if it wasn't his subconcious, was the island talking, sort of how the island was talking through dead boone in ep 3 of this season.

3. missed this.

4. well the woman was Joanne. Who Jack couldn't save. Charlie said he didn't go out there because he didn't swim. Which I was hoping they would mention tonight when Desmond revealed Charlie originally drown while trying to save Claire in his visions. As for him going out to save the baby...I think it's coincidence. Another related question I have is that in his vision, Charlie died trying to save Claire. But did Claire die? I mean he didn't mention it so you assume not but how could that be? Perhaps in Des's vision two people went out to save Claire, one brought her back, the other was Charlie who drown. Also what was Claire doing swimming in full clothing? That was odd wasn't it?


5. yes it is. I don't know what, if anything that means. Also did when Penny and Desmond were talking in the apartment after the pub scene, and Penny asks 'where are you?', right before that, Charlies voice can actually be heard saying 'get off me'...I thought that was odd.

6. reminded me of that too. I still think she was some kind of island agent of manifestation not unlike the oracle.

In regards to #3 - I also saw the poster near Charlie and thought that it looked like Claire, however i can't think of why she would be on a magazine advert in London. - I think we'll need some screencaps.

thanks for your replys. i dont know how to capture the shot but its right when desmond gets out of the office with pennys dad and throws down the tie before he meets charlie. it may concidential but we really dont know much about claires past do we?

ikkon-1. thanks for the tune. i know that song but it was so low and it was hard to hear. 2. i think thats what i was getting at with question 2. :are all the flashbacks we are seeing are tainted by the island or just a device used by the show as we are seeing memories that are sometimes revalant to that moment on the show. im still not sure of the old ladys role. i think somehow it was an outside force instead of a subconiouses thing. dharma does screwy things so this may be another.
