View Full Version : Alex wanted her Father dead....
MinnieVanMommie 02-21-2007, 11:42 PM Apparently Alex has Daddy issues also...a common thread with our characters.
It amazes me that for all the people who say the are a family...They secretly want to see each other dead....and not for nothing
Ben wants to sell his soul to LIVE!
DharmaChick 02-22-2007, 12:10 AM Yeah, Alex seemed annoyed that Jack let him live. Ben seemed fond of her, though. I wonder if they were on better terms, before Karl.
Tronny 02-22-2007, 12:17 AM Ben isn't Alex's father...just the man who stole her from Rousseau and raised her to believe he was her father
She found out the truth and broke away from the group
care_n_jim 02-22-2007, 12:19 AM Do you think she knows that Henry isn't her father - or that she is just really angry that he is keeping her from her boyfriend - what kid hasn't wished a parent out of the way when it came to true love - think Romeo and Juliet ;)
MinnieVanMommie 02-22-2007, 12:21 AM Oh trust me...I know that Ben is not her biological father....but nonetheless...she doesnt seem to know anything about Danielle and seriously doubt that she knows he took her from her...
I think she is a teenage girl in love and mad at her daddy
esbaker 02-22-2007, 12:25 AM Are we watching Dallas?

I think she is a teenage girl in love and mad at her daddyAgreed. If she knew what really happened, why wouldn't she go try to find Danielle?
care_n_jim 02-22-2007, 12:28 AM I wonder why Henry didn't want her to date Karl - could they somehow be related>

I think that Ben is her adopted Dad and not her Biological dad. Alex is just fed up with all of the brainwashing and lying and rules of this cult.

I think that you may have something there.
nuno2 02-22-2007, 12:36 AM wether biological father or not, when he looked back at her and then banged his head down in disapointment, it almost seemed like he wasnt expecting her there or was unhappy that she knows everything that is going on. kinda a weird scene.
care_n_jim 02-22-2007, 12:38 AM I thought he didn't like her seeing him that weak
Save The Humans 02-22-2007, 12:39 AM Ben knows how Alex feels about him. If he did raise her from babyhood, that would kind of break his heart. But he obviously didn't endear himself to her as she got older, and started seeing how he and this society of theirs worked! (Not to mention whatever happened regarding Karl!)
She clearly DOES care about Juliet. Or she wouldn't have bothered coming to Jack to make her plea. Juliet, like her, is trapped in this situation. I suspect that she, Juliet, and Jack will be exceedingly close. Leaning on each other to endure "walking among them, but not one of them."
Selene1212 02-22-2007, 01:55 AM I think she may have found out she was 'taken' like the other children on the island.Agreed. If she knew what really happened, why wouldn't she go try to find Danielle?Chances are she has no idea where she was taken from, the names of her parents or if Danielle even lived through it all.

But with the amount of stuff the others control...how would she know about the lies??? Her "truth" is what she has grown up with and been raised with...

I am not sosure she would know she was taken...the Others are not so informed about things that happen...I do not think alex knows about Danielle
Alkhara 02-22-2007, 05:16 PM I think she is a teenage girl in love and mad at her daddy
Oh I agree.
She is rebelling against authority like any other teenager - only in this case he's her dad and the boss too = double rebellion.

It seems to me that Alex has been in quite a lot of trouble recently: helping Claire escape, the slingshot routine when Kate and Sawyer were breaking rocks, and now helping K & S escape and this business with Karl.
I took Ben's expression to be one of exasperation.
esbaker 02-22-2007, 05:35 PM I found it hard to read Ben's expression. Leyo, I like yours the best. Ben must have been devastated with his girl, and he couldn't do anything to stop her as he was incapacitated.
Alkhara 02-22-2007, 05:39 PM Like any teenager Alex does stupid things, and like any parent Ben despairs at her behaviour.
Except in the circumstances, her actions could have rather more serious consequences .... I mean, we still don't know what Karl did to deserve room 23 - the fact that she's Ben's daughter could be the only thing saving Alex from the same punishment!
I don't think she wanted Ben dead.
I think she wanted to understand why Jack--presumably a "bad person"--would live up to his word and save Ben when he had every reason to let Ben die.
I think she loves Ben. She's mad at Ben about Karl and would do anything to save him, but I think what was really going on in that scene is that she was realizing she'd been lied to about the Losties, about who were the good and bad people, and probably a bunch of other things besides.

I agree and I also agree with the postie who said Carl may be related to Alex and that's why Ben is so adhamant in keeping them apart.
Jackaroo 02-25-2007, 07:31 PM Last we saw of Alex was she was caught by 'the Others.' Then she appears at Jack's cage and informs him of what's going on with Juliet, right?
So here's what I thought,
Alex was told to inform Jack of Juliet's trial because they knew he'd take care of Ben in exchange for Juliet's release. They tried that by asking & seeing if he'd lie for her.
Alex didn't like this, of course - hence the pouting looks.
