I don't know what I think yet on this subject... I do know one thing... I'm really, really, really fed up with Kate... I just don't like her much these days... unfortunately... She needs to be a bit more decisive... it's really starting to get annoying...

I totally agree --- Kate is driving me nuts - do I love him or do I love him - enough already I am totally conviced Kate is an other - no one can be that wishy washy!

What James did tonight just shows what a great guy he is under those snarky defences of his! One, he tells Karl to go and try to connect (and flee!) with Alex. Then, he effectively tells Kate that he absolves her of her false guilt: over leaving Jack behind, over what her motives were for their night together. Even over her genuine feelings for him, which she dares not accept (because a large part of her, like a large part of him, doesn't feel she deserves to be happy).

I suspect we won't be seeing much of them together for awhile. Kate's gonna have to work thru all her guilt and feelings herself. To paraphrase James about Jack: "Sorry, kiddo. You're on your own." Don't expect this to resolve this season--or, at best, not until late this season.

I agree this one won't be resolved right away and it will hurt worse for Sawyer as Kate fights to get Jack back - what will be interesting to see is if Jack falls for Juliet will Kate fight for Jack or go back to Sawyer - I just wish they would pick one and get on with it - I don't watch for the back and forth romance - just get with someone and move along the story line -

As for Sawyer, I thought his chat with Karl was telling. They're obviously portraying Sawyer as rather infatuated with Kate. But I thought was interesting was how he told Karl to go after Alex and go get her back since he loves her so much. Kate's obviously been bugging him about going back for Jack and

will be leading Jack's rescue next week

and the obvious connection for Sawyer is just as Karl's willing to die to go get Alex back since he loves her so much, Kate is willing to risk death to try and go after Jack since she loves him. I think Skate is definitely heading for a rough patch, but that's to be expected considering the triangle. The second something good happens for either ship, it goes quickly sour the next episode! I'm really interested to see the role Juliet is going to play in all this. I think the triangle is really played out so I hope she injects some life into it.

I don't really know where I'm going with all this :smile: I guess basically, yes, Sawyer loves Kate and is realizing her feelings, while open to interpretation (:smile:) are not quite so clear-cut.

This episode redeemed Kate for me.
As a non-shipper who doesn't care one way or the other about Jate or Skate, I like it. She's getting back to the Kate I loved so much before the whole triangle mess got out of hand.
Kate's just being Kate. If she were the type to decide to settle down with a man, she'd be Kate Brendan.

She gave up her freedom for Farmer Ray and she's ready to risk life and limb for Jack. I didn't see her willingness to take a bullet for Sawyer as being indicative of anything special beyond those deeds.

Anyway, she asks them point blank True of False "Kate loves Jack?" There is hesitation, and then a t-rrrrue. "Kate loves Sawyer?" No hesitation, True. Head Nodding.

If Karl left to go get Alex, wouldn't he have needed the boat?
I thought there was a bit of emotion going on with Sawyer as well, but if the boat isn't available, wouldn't that make a good argument about not being able to go back and get Jack.

Let me preface by saying that I am a Jater (although with Juliette around not as much as I used to be).

Here's what I saw with the Sawyer/Kate thing. Sawyer does love Kate (as much as a con man can). Kate however is full of guilt for sleeping with Sawyer for one of two reasons. Either Jacks uber-heroic self sacrifice has made her realize she loves Jack and that whole Sawyer thing was a mistake, OR Jacks uber-heroic self sacrifice has made HER so guilty about sleeping with Sawyer that she will not go near anything involving her being happy until she saves Jack.

Kate knows, just like Jack knows, just like Sawyer knows that there is something between Kate and Jack, just like all 3 of them know there is something between Kate and Sawyer. If it's case 1 and Kate is just in love with the heroic Jack she can't see then it's easy. If however, its case 2 and shes just guilt stricken for kind of betraying whatever Jack and herself had while he's sacrificing himself to save her and her new 'lover' then she will not be able to move towards Sawyer again until Jack gives her the OK or she sees Jack with Juliette (I'm betting she'll see that).

What do you guys think?

Maybe she should of asked them whose she's IN love with. The writers are going to say she loves them both otherwise. They'll string along the triangle for as long as possible, hence answers such as those above.
