View Full Version : Jack as Jesus? xManofFaithx 02-22-2007, 12:33 AM "He walks among them but is not one of them." Jesus reference, perhaps? Cardielost 02-22-2007, 12:40 AM The original "stranger in a strange land" was Moses, and as the leader who may get the Losties out of the wilderness, that seems a better biblical fit for Jack. But he certainly does have a Messiah complex. Cardie pacejunkie 02-22-2007, 12:43 AM Is it me or was Jack more annoying than usual in this ep. Usually I just feel sorry for him because he was so dumped on by his father and Sarah, but here he was even more arrogant and sanctimonious as usual. And I did not get his relationship with Achara at all. It's like they gave the flashback no context. Obviously he was exorcising demons but why be so rough with her? And on topic, I totally get this messiah parallel since he was totally in the martyr role on the island, saving the world at the expense of himself. I'm getting a little fed up with it. The only one bothering me more right now is Kate. I really didn't need Achara telling me he's a leader but he's alone, frightened and angry. I must have the gift too. redmaria 02-24-2007, 03:37 AM Stranger in a Strange Land is a science fiction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science_fiction) novel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novel) by Robert A.
