Sawyer, Kate and Jack have all spend some time alone with Alex, they have found out that she is Ben's "daughter". They also all know about how Danielle gave birth to a girl 16 years ago, named and her Alex, before the Others took her. Why does nobody make the connection that they might be the same person. I mean, how many 16-year old girls named Alex can the Others host? Whenever she was interacting with the lostaways, I kept thinking (and hoping) they would finally ask "Who are you?" or something like that...

I kept waiting for Jack to say something about this last night to Alex, but it's like it never occurred to him. Just one more reason I rated this epi a 3.

Well duh...the plot might progress noticeably if that happened! And we can't have that.
Seriously though...Kate definitely would have to wonder, since she went on the expedition to the medical hatch with Rousseau. But Kate is kind of in her own little world anymore.

I think this will come up again if the Danielle is on the program again.

They all pretty much decided that Rousseau is a crazy, so maybe they just ignored most of what she said. Besides, they've heard it mentioned that Alex is Ben's daughter, right? Maybe that's why they haven't made the connection.

I don't get this either. She even looks like Danielle. Is Sayid the only one she told about her daughter to? I have a feeeling they're setting up for a major reunoin.

so the others are in posesssion of a 16 year old girl named alex that is danielle's daughter. kate meets and is helped by a teenage girl named alex and actually helps to save her boyfriend, but at no point does she bring this up to alex, or karl or sawyer?

Maybe they've brought it up but not in front of the cameras (huh - is that possible?)

What I mean is, maybe the writers are saving that dialogue for when they can put a little more meat into it, like when Alex meets Sayid or when they run into Danielle.

The funny thing is...we've been watching the show for years and we recognize this...and they have been on the Island for only how long?? It should be so fresh in their memories!

Wasn't there an article recently that said something about Sayid asking all the good questions? When is this episode?!?! He's gonna have to ask a LOT of questions to make up for the rest of the LOSTies!

I can't believe they haven't made the connection yet. Of course Alex probably has no idea her birth mother is alive on the big island.

I don't think it's surprising that they have not made the connection. I know if i were in their position, I would not be thinking to hard about stuff like that.

The only time any of them spent with Alex was running around during intense, life-or-death situations, so I'm more than willing to forgive them for not making the connection.

However, I'll be extremely annoyed if, the next time Danielle shows up, no one says, "I think the girl who helped us escape was your daughter."

I don't think it's surprising that they have not made the connection. I know if i were in their position, I would not be thinking to hard about stuff like that.

But what about in this episode, when they were sharing camp with Karl. They had plenty of time to reflect on what they had been going through. "Hey Karl, who was that girl who help our escape?"

But Jack mentions more than a few details during the episode when talking to Tom. Alex should have come up then as well.

I don't remember, but did she actually tell them her name? Last night when Sawyer was talking to Karl, he said something about a girl and Karl said, "Alex!" That might be the first time that he heard her name. And I don't know that Sawyer would make the connection.

It's so weird that they let him go. They put Ben in lock-up right quick. They should have held him. The people back at camp would want to find that place with the backyards.\

Yeah, they all know it. Danielle told the whole camp in Exodus I. Kate also followed Claire to the medical station, so Alex should be fresh in her memory.
