View Full Version : Isabel = "Older" Juliet?
Burnt Sienna 02-22-2007, 10:09 AM Going along with all this time travel speculation in the past few episodes, The first time I saw Isabel, I thought she was like an older version of Juliet. Ridiculous right? Would explain how she knew Jack was lying about Juliet's involvement in Ben's attempted murder though.
mikey_mike 02-22-2007, 10:26 AM To me she looked like some sort of Vulcan Queen but I like how you think. I don't buy into it personally but I do admit that it would make a curious twist. Still I think that she knew that Jack was lying because any number of other reasons. I am sure that there was a camera perhaps somewhere in the operation room. And if Vulcan woman reviewed that tape she could have easily seen Jack in a very convincing manner discussing Juliet's betrayal.
quizzical 02-22-2007, 10:27 AM I don't think so. She seemed pretty dissapointed when Ben commuted Juliet's death sentence. (edit for spelling)
archangel1772 02-22-2007, 10:28 AM Well now that TPTB have decided to introduce time travel into the plot, anything is possible. Next week we'll learn that the flying monkeys from the Wizard of Oz were responsible for the food drop last season.
FishBiscuit 02-22-2007, 10:38 AM Man I was hoping we could leave the Time Travel stuff back on the FBYE board:eek:.
I'm not smart enough to wrap my brain around all that.

RodimusBen 02-22-2007, 01:27 PM Yeah, Isabel is a different person-- and pretty scary.
I thought she would be someone "higher up" on the Others ladder, but she is the "sherriff?" Sorta disappointing. But I do think we got some good information from her appearance.

Yes, it is quite ridiculous. Think about it. Would you willingly execute your past self? No. At the very least this would cause your future self to cease to exist... or it would cause a huge temporal paradox because how could your past self have been executed by you if you never lived long enough to do it... I'm getting cross-eyed just thinking about it.
Very rarely have I thought that a Lost theory was impossible. This one is.

Now THAT'S funny!! LMFAO!
BagelsAndLockes 02-22-2007, 03:38 PM Well if we ever get to see Isabelle in a bikini (from the back), I guess we will know for sure.

Actually you're way off. Most likely it was done using a flying Delorean.

FishBiscuit, your avatar gets more evil each week, and I love it!
myothercarisflight815 02-22-2007, 06:44 PM I got the feeling that Isabel is one of those villians that in the future will try to dethrone Ben...
Lunch 02-22-2007, 07:44 PM She reminded me of Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for some reason. Maybe it was because I just watched it

I am still not sure it is time travel we are seeing. Was Desmond actually thrust years into the past by the explosion, lived his life as planned, and woke up on the beach after the explosion? Being thrust back doesn't explain how he sees the future. I'm still going with the situation where he saw his life flash 'before his eyes' but was made aware of things via the Ring Lady which impacted his subconscious. Far as we know, he may have found his special skill, sensing the future due to the magnetic explosion.
