On the wall in the tattoo studio are a number of wall hangings with what appear to be Chinese characters on them. The one on the right particularly interested me because there are only four symbols, two of which are the same: a symbol composed of a horizontal line with an upside-down V below it. This is pretty similar to the brand on Juliet's back, which is >|< (a vertical line with two V shapes on either side).

That is, the brand on her back appears to be the same symbol rotated 90 degrees (in both directions, if that makes sense). Is there anyone who knows enough about chinese characters to be able to determine if this similarity is meaningful?
