Who was it that she mentionned that she had a daughter named Alex and the Others took her?

I'm starting to think that she's in on it.

To Sayid first, then to the rest when she showed up at camp. All the losties are aware of her story. It is possible she's deceived everyone, we don't know yet.

I have a feeling she isn't in on it.
She seemed genuinely crazy in the middle of the jungle.

I don't think she would have taken Aaron had she been in on it - she took him in hopes of exchanging him for her child - no reason to do that if she made it all up. All of the Losties know her story now - and when Hurley came to her with the numbers she seemed sincere in understanding him!

She sees them on the island from time to time - they have been there when watching the Losties

In Maternity Leave (Season 2), Claire deliberately mentioned to Rousseau that a teenage girl helped her to escape from the Others after they kidnapped her.

OH yeah - I totally forgot that Claire told her there was a teen. Mentioning it here seems reasonable- we will be seeing the Losties tonight - and as the story line progresses it is likely she will be on again soon :) we can hope anyway ;)

I'm glad to see that Danielle is back. She's kind of bonkers, but definately someone that you'd want to have on your side in a jam. It seems odd that she wouldn't know about Alex with the Others, given her skills as a sort of jungle warrior, but her reaction when Kate told her about Alex seemed genuine.

I wouldn't think that she is on the Other's side, especially since she absolutely insisted that Ben was one of the Others when she shot him with the arrow, and allowed the Losties to haul him away. Though maybe she's part of the anti-Ben faction of the Others, if there is one.

The whole thing in this episode with Kate/Rousseau completely ignores that Claire ever told her about seeing the "teenage girl with blue eyes".

That's not necessarily true. If they had taken Alex from Rousseau for whatever reason (Perhaps she was even "marked" as Juliette was, and made to leave the group), knowing how much they value children (as we've seen by how many they've taken), perhaps she thought they might exchange the infant for her daughter.
It is a plausible trade, whether or not Danielle is in cahoots with them or not.

She's been on the island for 16 YEARS, and she hasn't bumped into ANYONE? They haven't been curious about what she's doing or why she's there?
When the Losties plane landed, Ben wasted no time sending a team down to scout out what they were doing, etc. Why wouldn't they have done the same when Danielle's "team crashed" on the island?
One of the major holes i've found in her story, is her broadcasting of her distress call.
1) When Sayid and Hurley picked up the signal and were wondering about where (/when) it came from, it is theorized that it was the music played at one of the other's funerals. It makes much more sense that Sayid was picking up the transmission from the Others, than from somewhere much farther away. Thus, for Danielle to be broadcasting on THEIR system she must have gone through them to do it. Otherwise, how could she change what was being transmitted?

The question in my mind, is how she had the ability to change the transmission anyways? It's no easy feat to "hack in" to a frequency and change what it was broadcasting.

Maybe she changed it at the Flame - and if all the Dharma people were already gone she would have tons of time OR

If she was with Dharma she could have changed it before she fled

OR

Lastly - maybe someone else set up the transmission not Danielle - she did seem surprised that it had been 16 years!
