I'm VERY happy she did, but she'd never been to any of Danielle's little hideouts. How could she know where to find her? Are we supposed to assume she just stumbled upon her?

As far as I can tell, TPTB just expect us to believe that Rousseau will hear/trap etc. anyone who stumbles into her general area of the jungle, because she is that paranoid. Bit of a jump, but she is the Island's Wonder Woman.

I think Kate, judging from the net she picked up, knew that the territory she was in was where Rousseau possibly roamed. I was so excited to see her. I think new story arc with Patchy and Rousseau finding her daughter is going to launch the third season onto another level.

We saw Kate pick up some netting.

I'm assuming that she went back to the place where she and Jack had been caught in the net, which was probably one of Rousseau's traps and started from there.

We were suppose to know that she was going after Danielle - remember we know more than the Losties - we see all the sides -
I think she knew how to find her because of how she helped Claire - and that is why Danielle recognized her voice when she said not to shoot

Exactly. She just went back to the place where she and Jack got caught in the net. Then Danielle found Kate.

I figured that is where she was going to find Danielle. They did suprise me a bit by bringing out Lock and Sayid first. I was shocked that Danielle showed up after that simply because anytime I make a guess on this show it ends up being wrong.

I have to admit I didn't realize that was what she was doing. I thought she was leaving by herself to try to find Karl's trail. So they got me anyway.

I didn't find it a stretch to believe that Kate could find Danielle. Kate is pretty familiar with the jungle. I was more surprised that Hurley was able to turn that van as smoothly as he did, considering the speed he was moving and the closeness to the rocks.
I guess they all created their own luck.

I thought the area she went to was where Sawyer stepped on the dart. Not 100% on this one, heck not even 50%. So can anyone shoot down my theory quickly so I can go to bed?

I might be crazy, but when Locke first mentioned the compass bearing I just assumed he and Sayid were leading the way in this scene. Watching it again, obviously that's wrong, but I did find it interesting that Locke said Kate wasn't wrong in what she said about motivation or the lack.
