"you'll learn 5 things"...."you won't want to miss this"...etc.. Oh well! I guess we should all know by now not to beleive them... but darn it, I always do!

How about they find a dharma van on the island and take it for a spin down a scary hill? There's many things to talk about in this episode.

In the Lost Podcast after 'Flashes Before Your Eyes', I remember Damon and Carlton bemoaning the "three mysteries that will be solved". I don't think TPTB have anything to do with the (perhaps misleading) promotion.

About how misleading the promos are and how we shouldn't bother to listen to them?

The promo's have been like that since the beginning - I have actually started to think the complete opposite of what you see and then your chances are pretty good that you have an actual spoiler :)

Skip the promos and just enjoy the show. There is always something to talk about on Thursday morning. We have "LOST lunch" at work every Friday. Always something...

I think I'm going to stop watching the promos. The only thing they have managed to do is confuse, anger and spoil people. Like, I knew there was going to be a car since they SHOWED IT in the promo. That moment when Hurley found the car would have been so much cooler if they wouldn't have gave that away.

Sayid was making fun of Locke who saw a compass heading on Eko's Jesus stick. "Look north 3:15" I think. I believe Sayid was being facetious about the sun ray. I thought it was hysterical :)

I actually feel sorry for TPTB because the promo people are causing so many problems. They'll never draw in new viewers with promos that make big promises but aren't kept. Kinda like the 3-part Grey's that was so hyped. Hypety hype hype. :frown:

i think that i will turn the channel before the next week's promo comes on from now on. think about how surprising seeing the eye patch man next week would be if i hadn't given in to curiosity. lesson learned tonight - no promos= more surprises and no disappointments:redface:

It was Sayid, the voice of reason, gently mocking Locke for saying he knew exactly where to go because a ray of sunlight shone on something written on a stick. Great and subtle moment that reinforced Sayid as a Man of Science and Locke as a Man of Faith. Even funnier because Sayid was going along with it, which was why Sayid said it gently instead of harshly.

What I'll be talking about tommorrow are all the great one-liners... problems is there were so many of them, relentlessly one after the other that I can't barely remember any of them except for Sawyer's "jumbotron" and Hurley bad miss at one of his own zingers.

it's not just you....ABC is doing a horrific job with the previews for this season. but it doesn't help that the epi just plain sucked as well. :drowsy:

You're supposed to be talking about how Kate seeks out Danielle to help find The Others lair even though the Great Explorer Danielle hasn't found it in 16 years or been able to deduce her daughter is alive and not far away.

While hanging at the watercooler, also bring up how these characters are smart when TPTB need them to be and imbeciles otherwise. Whatever suits the particular plotline TPTB need to set up.

Yeah I think the fact that Kate told Danielle about Alex is the big moment of the show, meaning that's what abc intended. I do agree it was great and I liked the fact that Kate actually went to Danielle to join forces. However I don't think there is much to talk about. It wasn't a moment that your jaw dropped or anything.
