View Full Version : The Dart South Shore 03-01-2007, 12:42 AM When Sawyer stepped on the dart, what else was on the ground? Some kind of netting? Clochard 03-01-2007, 12:46 AM One of Danielle's nets? Jealous_Guy 03-01-2007, 12:47 AM I figured the dart was something that flew out from the Hatch, since there was a dartboard amongst the rubble that remained after the Failsafe Frack-up. Saukkomies 03-01-2007, 12:47 AM Why didn't they talk about where the frikkin heck that dart came from? I was like: come ON - why aren't you guys at all intrigued about this? LOL! South Shore 03-01-2007, 12:48 AM I figured the dart was something that flew out from the Hatch, since there was a dartboard amongst the rubble that remained after the Failsafe Frack-up. Ah, that makes sense actually. Clochard 03-01-2007, 12:48 AM Good call about the hatch! I thought it might be one of the Others darts. Remember how they captured Jack and Kate and Sawyer? Save The Humans 03-01-2007, 12:51 AM So help me, I'd better see Desmond giving James a tetanus shot in the next eppy! Stepping on a dirty, sharp dart? That penetrates your foot? That's tetanus shot territory! GettinLost 03-01-2007, 12:54 AM Why didn't they talk about where the frikkin heck that dart came from? I was like: come ON - why aren't you guys at all intrigued about this? LOL! So help me, I'd better see Desmond giving James a tetanus shot in the next eppy! Stepping on a dirty, sharp dart? That penetrates your foot? That's tetanus shot territory! My first thought was that it would have some type of drug or poison that will eventually "do" him in... Bohren 03-01-2007, 12:56 AM I thought it was Danielles, and that is how Kate found her again at the end. If I am wrong please be gentle lol care_n_jim 03-01-2007, 12:56 AM maybe it will be a truth telling drug - and he will admit to Kate he loves her - I am guessing it is one of the darts from the hatch though xzeox 03-01-2007, 12:58 AM Maybe Desmond put that dart there when he traveled through time. :D RodimusBen 03-01-2007, 12:59 AM They find all kinds of crap in the jungle... Tonka trucks, dolls, etc. I'm not all that surprised that they didn't go all Sherlock Holmes over a dart. LOST Granny 03-01-2007, 01:26 AM Lots of possible dart origins. I like the flying out of the hatch idea. Lobby 03-01-2007, 05:14 PM I figured the dart was something that flew out from the Hatch, since there was a dartboard amongst the rubble that remained after the Failsafe Frack-up. My first impression is that it was not the type of dart one uses to play darts with. But I need to look at the tape later. moonkiss 03-01-2007, 05:23 PM My first impression is that it was not the type of dart one uses to play darts with. But I need to look at the tape later. Pretty sure it was...just a regular black and silver dart. lucky4me8 03-01-2007, 05:26 PM But what was the point of having it in the episode? erin1679 03-01-2007, 05:30 PM Lots of possible dart origins. I like the flying out of the hatch idea. I like the hatch idea too, though it would be more interesting if that dart was actually fired at someone.... windsurfer_nyc 03-01-2007, 05:41 PM But what was the point of having it in the episode? The dart seems like a simple plot device to get Kate and Sawyer to sit down and have their little 'sorry' chat. moonkiss 03-01-2007, 05:48 PM The dart seems like a simple plot device to get Kate and Sawyer to sit down and have their little 'sorry' chat. that's kinda what I thought... and it wasn't fresh from the wrapper or anything, IIRC it was a little mangled, so the hatch idea would be plausible... Elevation 03-01-2007, 05:50 PM Maybe it is part of one of Rousseu's traps? SleepyPirate 03-01-2007, 07:06 PM I agree that it is hatch detritus. Sawyer and Kate don't know about the implosion yet so Sawyer's line "how the heck did it get out here?" is supposed to remind us of that. And I agree that it really was used as a simple device to get them to sit down and have their "sorry" talk. The dart did have an allegorical reference to the lion and the mouse story, where the big bad lion gets a thorn in his paw that the little mouse pulls out for him. Significance? I don't know, except it sets up some power relationships and gives Sawyer yet another lesson in humility and accepting others' help. Earendil 03-01-2007, 07:48 PM But what was the point of having it in the episode? 1) A point to have Kate and Sawyer in a sit down moment to say sorry, etc. 2) A clue/point saying that they are on the right track back to the beach (or at least in x distance from where the hatch was. Pipoli 03-01-2007, 07:55 PM It was all burnt and twisted. Flew out of the hatch, for sure. Next, the burnt cover of Geronimo Jackson's record. ;) Juliezgroovy 03-01-2007, 07:57 PM I thought it was funny when Kate tricked him when she pulled it out. Maybe I'm weird, but it made me laugh. John_is_Lost 03-01-2007, 08:01 PM When I saw it I said "It was from that dart thing in the hatch" redmaria 03-13-2007, 06:29 PM maybe one of the poison darts (with worn out poison)the others tend to throw at people...?? care_n_jim 03-14-2007, 09:55 PM When I saw it I said "It was from that dart thing in the hatch" My thoughts as well and since Kate and Sawyer had no clue about the hatch blowing up it would make sense for Sawyer to ask how it got way out here - thus letting us know just how big the kaaboom was! sioux21 03-14-2007, 10:15 PM Wasn't there some other stuff lying around there that was clearly from the hatch? I never thought for a second that it was anything but a part of the dart set from the hatch because I could swear there were other hatch debris in the shot. care_n_jim 03-14-2007, 10:17 PM I don't recall seeing anything else from the hatch sioux21 03-14-2007, 10:29 PM Well, that certainly is interesting. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm care_n_jim 03-14-2007, 10:35 PM I wonder if we can find any pics of the dart area I saw that exact seen on Late show with Jimmy K - I think and I don't recall seeing anything in the background then either -- |
