View Full Version : Women's head in Hugo's room?
NightMystic 03-01-2007, 01:27 AM Im not sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me or not, but the part where hugo is packing his bags near the end and his dad walks in i could have sworn i saw a white womens head in the upper left corner. im not sure it was a statue or a painting or if it was just someone that was not supposed to be there.
can anyone confirm this for me?

I thought I saw the same thing but I didn't tape the episode so I could play it back and check. It looked like she was blonde? Not sure.
If I'm crazy, then so are you, so, it's all good:biggrin:

I just re-watched the episode and you're absolutely right that someone is standing behind Hurley while his Dad is on the other side of the room.
Since Hurley's Dad is in the same spot as the figure later in the scene, I think they had a contininuity error and it's the Dad we see standing behind Hurley at the same time he's ostensibly on the other side of the room.
Burnt Sienna 03-01-2007, 11:22 AM Was it Libby by any chance? That'd be creepy.
joeydeese 03-01-2007, 11:35 AM I saw it! I paused it on DVR and there is def. a head! Screenshot?

I saw it myself. Looked more like a guy to me. My guess is either this is an error of some sort or may have some significance. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it.
Electromagnetic Anomoly 03-01-2007, 11:54 AM it looks like a guy!
probably a production mistake..
kokobware 03-01-2007, 11:55 AM Anyone found a screenshot? Lost-Media perhaps?
Arrow 03-01-2007, 12:12 PM I put it here (http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/1938/womanlm6.jpg)
Looks like a woman to me. Creepy.
ortiz34 03-01-2007, 12:20 PM nice catch, we need to get writer clarification if this was 'intended to be seen' or not
piscescat 03-01-2007, 12:29 PM It almost looks like his mom. She could've been walking by the door to listen, perhaps?
kimbrchick 03-01-2007, 12:42 PM Maybe she's a maid or one of the staff.
Lost In My Mind 03-01-2007, 03:12 PM Maybe she's a maid or one of the staff.
This is the simpliest and most obvious explanation. Hurley (or Hurley's mom more likely) surely had to have at least a few maids.
Clochard 03-01-2007, 03:15 PM My moneys on the mom, or the maid.
Guinevere 03-01-2007, 03:42 PM It's not his mom because she has a darker complexion and has dark hair. Could be a maid though!
Finally!! 300 posts!!! :74happy: :75happy:
erin1679 03-01-2007, 04:25 PM It must be a maid or servant, or just a filming error. I love how this show makes us pick every bit apart.
pdh1978 03-01-2007, 04:34 PM It was his father, and it wasn't an error. The camera angle just made it look funny. On the left side of Hurley's head, you can see the doorway, just where it should be.
impositron 03-01-2007, 04:52 PM Stupid production assistants. They always get in the shots!

I posted a question to Gregg (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?p=1407274#post1407274) using the screencap in Arrow's post. Hopefully he'll be able to clarify!
SawyersLover815 03-01-2007, 05:14 PM i think it mite have some significance..and its not a maid or his mom. Im hoping that it was put in here so we can figure it out..but why would someone just appear in his house..like a ghost or somthing..then again..there are other scenes where a white smoke is around hurleys head in the jungle..that could be weird if they were related?
VCguy85 03-01-2007, 05:18 PM It's just his dad in a funny angle, no ghost-doll-women
Tommy Calamari 03-01-2007, 05:58 PM Yeah, clearly his dad.
snakey 03-01-2007, 06:12 PM Doesnt look like Cheech's head at all to me, he had some curly do going on.
Ida Monster 03-01-2007, 07:02 PM It's his dad. :wallbash:

NightMystic 03-02-2007, 08:01 PM hmm has anyone rewatched the episode to confirm it?
Sam G 03-02-2007, 09:16 PM Gregg Nations confirned it is Hurley's dad. I think the Lost-Media caps make it pretty clear.

islandchica 03-02-2007, 10:27 PM Yep (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=71112), it's just Cheech. Darn, it would have been cool if it was someone else, lol.
Iamonthemanifest 03-03-2007, 11:57 PM Maybe this is how the 'Others' know so much about the Losties, right down to stuff that's not on paper, that no one would know, unless they were there. I think it's definitely a blonde woman...so it could be Libby, as a ghost, looking at his past, or the 'Sherrif' from Othersville, or Ms. Spooky diamond store lady...I put my money on Ms. Spooky...she is blonde/or was, and proven able to travel through time. Hurley's Mom verified their butlers were Mr. and Lady Tron.
As far as a continuity error, well I hope they wouldn't be shooting just assuming staff could not be seen.
Sam G 03-04-2007, 01:55 AM http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showpost.php?p=1409672&postcount=2
It's Hurley's dad.

Well, I sure feel like a donkey's buttox. :horse: Gotta stop posting during night time feedings
Caliban2 03-07-2007, 09:35 PM Haven't read all the resposes to this thread, so excuse me if someone has already posted this. I think the head is cheech marin. Often times when shooting a scene the actor is saying lines to no one. Cheech may have been in the background of the shoot waiting his turn. This gives an eerie feeling to the shoot.
This technique is used because if you shooting two way dialogue you need at least two cameras and is also more difficult for the director to concentrate on each shooting.
Looks like Cheech to me. Perhaps I'm wrong. What'dya think?
Sam G 03-07-2007, 09:41 PM Can this thread be closed? Gregg Nations has confirmed that it is Hurley's dad.
S_awyer_22_pr 03-07-2007, 09:48 PM wow!!!! creepy!!!!
