When Hurley's Dad comes into his room to wake him up, there is a quick still shot of the ceiling over his bed. At first glance it's a lucky horse shoe, but then I noticed the squared off ends, like a magnet has. (No screen shot) Tvo, anyone?

Yes, I noticed the cieling too, reflective of the cieling in a Michael flashback, I believe in "Special" when he comes to get Walt in Australia.
Don't think there is any mythology meaning, just a deliberate repetition of motifs.
