It's about time Hurley let some emotion go over Libby. I know Lost time is different than our time but geez it's been since what? second to the last epi of LAST season since she was killed? It was good to see he really did care. I was starting to wonder if he even remembered Libby.

Also low and behold the losties are sharing information with each other. Finally some one said hey they gave Micheal and Walt a boat and they took off. Kate told the crazy french chick she might know where her daughter is. Plus there was a few more i can't think of right now.

Good work! It's about time these guys started spilling the beans.

I agree. I called it from the start that he was talking to Libby, and it made me feel so bad. Hurley really did care for her and his emotion during that "talk" made me wanna just give him a big hug and tell him it's all gonna be okay.

I'm glad they finally showed Hurley mourning a bit. Even for how brief it was, it serves its purpose.

It's working.

Last episode's section had a thread about the losties never asking the right question... which also morphed into a "they never seem to tell each other anything". Well now they suddenly seem to be talking to each other again. It's good to finally get that going again.

One thing still unmentioned and there was a perfect opportunity since everyone was talking - Jin and Sun still do not mention loosing desmonds sailboat to the others, and that she killed one of them. This might be important to know when they go off after Jack in othersville.

This episode was made around the time the hiatus started, meaning the writers had a lot of time to read viewer complaints and suggestions and implement it into the episode.

They did awesome.

Libby died on Day 65 November 25, 2004 ("?" 2.21),
Last nights episode was day 75, December 5, 2004.

I personally felt Hurley was mourning off camera, but I was happy to see a lot of things included in last nights episodes.

Hurley's emotions, and characters FINALLY sharing information were both welcome. I think the writers did it very well too, characters need to share their information in a very specific way or else it'd feel very out of place, and I think they did it wonderfully in last nights episode. They didn't waste too much time on it but Kate was able to give Sayid and Locke a lot of info in a short time. Not to mention the bigger news to Danielle. They shared information in a way that still advanced the story, a lot of people seem to want them to constantly sit around a campfire and talk to each other, which would get old fast, but last night they conveyed information while continuing the pace of the show.

If you think about it -- Hurley hasn't really had time to blatantly sit around and mope for Libby. After she died he left with Kate, Jack, Sawyer, and Michael to help get Walt back (perhaps as something to take his mind off Libby, or maybe to save a life because Libby died). Then he had his whole long trek back to the losties, and since then it's been a bit of a whirlwind. He had Desmond to worry about... But bottom line, he haven't seen all that much of Hurley until this episode, and when it finally focused on him we did see him grieving for Libby.

I wouldn't say that he had forgotten about her, a lot of things have just been going on. And, like Dezdmona says, it has only been 10 days on the island.

True, but I recall a spot on the beach when getting plastered with charlie and desmond he might have said, i sure do miss Libby or something. After all wouldn't a third of a bottle of 2000 dollar a swallow scotch bring out an emotion or two? ;)

Good point, BillToons. It would have made sense for Hurley to spill some of his emotions after taking in that scotch. But how come I get the feeling that Charlie and Desmond drank the most that night, and Hurley was just sort of hanging with them, lol? Jorge did not come off as a convincing drunk. Charlie being in a rock band, and Desmond being the drinker he is- it just seemed like Hurley was out of place in that scene- Jorge looked uncomfortable...

to refresh your memory, Michael manipulated him into it as a way to exact revenge on the others...

(as per his instructions to bring the 4 on the list)

Michael manipulated him, but I also think Hurley went for his own reasons as well. In my opinion.
