Hi all,
I think the scene with the fortune teller was a pot shot aimed directly at those who feel like everyone is either psychic or goes to a psychic. After I saw it I immediately likened it to humor on behalf of the veiwer and as relief that not everyone is "gifted." Anyone else feel the same?

I think it was to further show the difficult relationship between Hurley and his father. The tarot reader was clearly a fake (she wasn't reading the cards correctly). The scene was funny/sad because we know what happens to Hurley in Australia. We know Hurley's anguish.

I really liked this scene. Mr. Reyes seemed like he really was trying to help his son, but he bungled it so badly, and the woman seemed like she was trying her best, but she couldn't fool old Hugo. I could also see how this would increase the rift between the two men, though. It was also interesting to see how Hurley embraced his money when it suited him. All in all, one of my favorites...

Oh I think that psychic has a genuine gift alright... for separating people from their money. :biggrin:
It was a delightfully funny scene - and beautifully played, the comic timing was spot on, but (it's not a bad but, it's a good but, trust me);
Did yous not see what her cards depicted? : three bodies (drowning?) in the water...
and two of them blonde. :eek2:
I'm going to go watch again...

i got all fired up during this scene when the psychic was mixing her voodoo concoction and told hurley to take off his clothes.
i was so sad when it didn't actually happen :frown:
