I thought Vincent looked a lot different last night. Of course it has been a long time since we've seen him. Does anyone know if he's still being played by Madison or have they hired a new dog?

You're probably right Danni. My hubby was actually the first to say something about it being a different dog. I was just happy to see him again. :biggrin: Maybe Vincent loved Hawaii so much that she decided to retire. :laugh:

Which makes me think maybe that's the thing the producers mentionned that we missed in the season 1 opener. Was it not Vincent that woke Jack up?

I hate to say this, since Vincent is my favorite character in Lost (just look at my Avatar), but all yellow labs pretty much look the same to me. :redface: Of course, I'm not even sure whether Vincent is a yellow labrador retriever or not...

Being a huge dog lover and somewhat know about certain breeds of dogs.......Labs are notorious for becoming thick (overweight) when they get older. Usually get thicker around the age of 5 I think. They get barrell chested. So I think if it is the same dog he just gained some weight. He needs to do some laps in the ocean.

I read an article that said jack bender adopted a dog (lulu, i dunno breed) that he brings to the set everyday but it mentioned madison as still being there.

Vincent is played by a female for purposes of filming. They don't have to worry about filming certain...attributes that way. This was actually brought up on the season one (or maybe it was two) DVDs :p
I didn't notice anything different about Vincent offhand, but then he was kind of moving around a lot.

Owning two labs myself (a 6 yr old yellow male and 1 yr old chocolate female) I can attest that they do gain weight as they age. I didnt notice a difference in dogs. I think it's still Madison...why would they trade (trained) dogs?

It looked like the same dog to me. And Madison has always been chubby, even in the first season.

Another pup will be joining the cast...One of the show's VIPs adopted a dog from the Hawaii Humane Society. Apparently, there are rules against animals on the set who are NOT part of the script. So, to avoid this the pup was given a role in the show.

Does this mean Vincent finally gets a flashback? Stay tuned!

The epi is being kept a secret so I'm thinking Vincent really will get his own flashback which will blow viewers away!

Regarding Vincent.. I also thought he/she looked different. I thought perhaps it was the bang phenomenon that hit most of the hair of the females.. but that didn't quite work if Vincent is supposed to be a female.. ;)

I mean... Vincent did seem a little... overweight... but I think he's still played by Madison. Is the dog listed among the cast? I'm gonna go check a website and see what it says...

they talk about the filming of TTID on the new official podcast - they refer to the dog as madison

I'm pretty sure it's still Madison. I have never seen a male dog playing Vincent, and I've always been annoyed by how obviously female the dog looks. Male and female labs have very distinctive builds and faces, and there is no way the dog on the show looks remotely male.
