I thought Vincent looked a lot different last night. Of course it has been a long time since we've seen him. Does anyone know if he's still being played by Madison or have they hired a new dog?

View Full Version : Is Madison still playing Vincent? pinkrose 03-01-2007, 11:50 AM I thought Vincent looked a lot different last night. Of course it has been a long time since we've seen him. Does anyone know if he's still being played by Madison or have they hired a new dog? Electromagnetic Anomoly 03-01-2007, 11:59 AM ummmmmmmmmm, that leaves so much open for a sarcastic comment. any one else care to do it for me?! I just can't do it. Danni 03-01-2007, 12:09 PM I just can't do it. smart choice EA ;) pink has a lot of friends in these parts. I was just so happy to see Vincent again I didn't notice anything different, pink. But it brings to mind Lassie - I think there were 3 or 4 by the time they were done. pinkrose 03-01-2007, 12:26 PM You're probably right Danni. My hubby was actually the first to say something about it being a different dog. I was just happy to see him again. Maybe Vincent loved Hawaii so much that she decided to retire. cashoutcurse 03-02-2007, 11:58 AM I noticed it right away. Looks like a different dog to me. :undecide: lostgurl 03-02-2007, 12:04 PM It doesn't look like a different dog to me. DefenderOfMen 03-02-2007, 12:28 PM I noticed when Vincent was running through the jungle the dog looked rather paunchy (or pregnant). iliketowatchtv 03-02-2007, 12:49 PM That surely looked like a different dog to me. polusmaximus 03-02-2007, 01:18 PM Maybe it was the monster, now wouldnt THAT be something? Which makes me think maybe that's the thing the producers mentionned that we missed in the season 1 opener. Was it not Vincent that woke Jack up? I'll try to take a look this weekend Saukkomies 03-02-2007, 01:39 PM I hate to say this, since Vincent is my favorite character in Lost (just look at my Avatar), but all yellow labs pretty much look the same to me. Of course, I'm not even sure whether Vincent is a yellow labrador retriever or not... heatherblue 03-02-2007, 01:56 PM Being a huge dog lover and somewhat know about certain breeds of dogs.......Labs are notorious for becoming thick (overweight) when they get older. Usually get thicker around the age of 5 I think. They get barrell chested. So I think if it is the same dog he just gained some weight. He needs to do some laps in the ocean. pinkrose 03-02-2007, 03:05 PM Yeah, she looked a little fatter, but the face also looked different to me. Maybe we're just overanalyzing it. Saukkomies 03-02-2007, 03:36 PM Yeah, she looked a little fatter, but the face also looked different to me. Maybe we're just overanalyzing it. So, heh, is Vincent a "he" or a "she"? Hey, overanalyzing is my middle name. pinkrose 03-02-2007, 03:38 PM Madison is a female playing the male character Vincent. Well at least that's how it used to be. I guess we don't know for sure if she still does. Saukkomies 03-02-2007, 03:41 PM Madison is a female playing the male character Vincent. Well at least that's how it used to be. I guess we don't know for sure if she still does. LOL! I guess there's a precedent: Lassie was played by male dogs. Or at least that's what I've been told... gusthepolarbear 03-02-2007, 03:41 PM I read an article that said jack bender adopted a dog (lulu, i dunno breed) that he brings to the set everyday but it mentioned madison as still being there. Starrox 03-02-2007, 03:41 PM Madison is a female playing the male character Vincent. Well at least that's how it used to be. I guess we don't know for sure if she still does. ... that's why the language filter replaces a certain word with "vincent"... Saukkomies 03-02-2007, 03:43 PM ... that's why the language filter replaces a certain word with "vincent"... Well, dang. Now my curiosity is up. Would that "certain word" start with a "b" and rhyme with "witch"? Heh. pinkrose 03-02-2007, 03:45 PM Yes. I've always thought it was quite clever. Nevermore 03-02-2007, 07:15 PM Yeah, she looked a little fatter, but the face also looked different to me. Maybe we're just overanalyzing it. Please don't insult Lost VIPs on this board. Lavinder 03-02-2007, 07:20 PM I noticed that Vincent put his ears back more and was more perky, I'm use to the floppy eared docile dog who just tramped around the jungle occasionally Saukkomies 03-02-2007, 09:45 PM Please don't insult Lost VIPs on this board. LOL! Hey, you know in Hawaii, a girl with a little weight on her is considered a sign of beauty! Jonesy 03-02-2007, 10:04 PM I noticed when Vincent was running through the jungle the dog looked rather paunchy (or pregnant). Vincent is pregnant??? Oh no!!! What has that smoke monster done??? :eek2:  (teasing) Please don't insult Lost VIPs on this board. :rotflmao2: AnalogKid 03-02-2007, 11:33 PM Madison is a female playing the male character Vincent. Well at least that's how it used to be. I guess we don't know for sure if she still does. Vincent is played by a female for purposes of filming. They don't have to worry about filming certain...attributes that way. This was actually brought up on the season one (or maybe it was two) DVDs :p I didn't notice anything different about Vincent offhand, but then he was kind of moving around a lot. Jonesy 03-02-2007, 11:50 PM This thread (as fun and funny as it is) got me really curious so I posted the question to Gregg. Hopefully we will have an answer soon. :) erin1679 03-03-2007, 12:37 AM Being a huge dog lover and somewhat know about certain breeds of dogs.......Labs are notorious for becoming thick (overweight) when they get older. Owning two labs myself (a 6 yr old yellow male and 1 yr old chocolate female) I can attest that they do gain weight as they age. I didnt notice a difference in dogs. I think it's still Madison...why would they trade (trained) dogs? briar910 03-04-2007, 03:16 AM It looked like the same dog to me. And Madison has always been chubby, even in the first season. Islandprincess 03-04-2007, 02:03 PM Just FYI, Another pup will be joining the cast...One of the show's VIPs adopted a dog from the Hawaii Humane Society. Apparently, there are rules against animals on the set who are NOT part of the script. So, to avoid this the pup was given a role in the show. Does this mean Vincent finally gets a flashback? Stay tuned! The article is somewhere out there in cyberspace. If I can find the article, I'll post it. The epi is being kept a secret so I'm thinking Vincent really will get his own flashback which will blow viewers away! LostPack 03-04-2007, 02:16 PM Please don't insult Lost VIPs on this board. Just had to mention that when I read this I totally LOST it and cracked up... :clapping: We dont want Madison to be treated like MR last season or uhm.. I forget the actress from Jack's flashback.. Regarding Vincent.. I also thought he/she looked different. I thought perhaps it was the bang phenomenon that hit most of the hair of the females.. but that didn't quite work if Vincent is supposed to be a female.. ;) sjb121590 03-04-2007, 07:57 PM I mean... Vincent did seem a little... overweight... but I think he's still played by Madison. Is the dog listed among the cast? I'm gonna go check a website and see what it says... ETA: Yeah, I got nothing... briar910 03-04-2007, 09:53 PM Just FYI, Another pup will be joining the cast...One of the show's VIPs adopted a dog from the Hawaii Humane Society. I posted a thread about that here (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=70913). RodimusBen 03-05-2007, 04:39 AM Cool article about the set dog. About Madison, I don't think it's a different dog, but you never know. From this picture it looks like the same dog: http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?album=1253&pos=20 Jonesy 03-05-2007, 11:54 PM Gregg answered: Is Madison still playing Vincent? We have two Vincents. One is still Madison, and the other is Pono (I think that's his name.) BTW, "Pono" in Hawaiian means "Good". Jonesy 03-06-2007, 02:03 AM You're welcome. Now we just have to figure out a way to tell them apart on screen. ;) pinkrose 03-06-2007, 02:34 PM Thanks for the info Jones! I guess we know for sure that there's more than one Vincent. I wonder if both were used in the eppy. Maybe some shots were Madison and some were Pono. Please don't insult Lost VIPs on this board.I guess that was mean wasn't it? Sorry Madison/Pono. BlackLotus 03-06-2007, 02:43 PM they talk about the filming of TTID on the new official podcast - they refer to the dog as madison goat_song 03-07-2007, 07:55 PM I'm pretty sure it's still Madison. I have never seen a male dog playing Vincent, and I've always been annoyed by how obviously female the dog looks. Male and female labs have very distinctive builds and faces, and there is no way the dog on the show looks remotely male. |
