That's interesting, particularly the fact that it doesn't match anything in the room and stands out like a sore thumb. Everyhting in the room is very monotone then blammo a tropical glowing colorful backlit photo with a spotlight on it to boot.

Looks like a flat screen tv...

I think its one of those pictures that reacts to the light.

I have a picture of a beach (not this picture, differnt setting) and it flows with the natural sunlight.

LIke at 5am when the sun is coming up, in the picture the sun is coming up. At night when the sun sets, theres a picture of a beautiful sun set in the picture.

It could just be one of those (they are very cool!)

Oops, just found the right thread for this. I thought it was the same picture from the mental hospital. It reminded of the scene w/ Hurley in the psych doctor's office.

I think it's so interesting that Hurley has this picture on his wall that's so reminiscent of the island picture on the wall of the sanitarium. Maybe at that time in his life, the idea of a deserted island was sounding better and better.

Have any of you ever played the flash game on ABC's LOST site? The picture on the flat screen in the house looks like it could have come from the game.

I just thought that it was one of those cheesy light up pictures! They are all over the malls here. The ocean looks like it is moving when you turn it on.
Now I will have to go back to look at all the other references!

Things like these are usually pure eastereggs and aren't tied in with the show.

I like the six-sided lamps in the upper right hand corner of the first screenshot from the original post. The props dept probably didn't even intend it, and yet there again is Lost-irony. :)

I don't know if it matters at all if it is a painting, or TV, it is the content. It is following the pattern of an island portrait being in incorporated into the episode.

I remember downloading an official screensaver a while ago and the scene is that but with one of 815's engines spinning beside that exact palm tree. I am actually sure !!!
