WOW!!! I loved it! So many clues, answers, questions! I now think Juliet is playing Ben. He has promised her something but she's been mislead (Ben doesn't lie !?) too many times. He's going down!

I am in awe. This was fantastic. Juliet and Ben's characters are fascinating. And Elizabeth, for someone not knowing the whole truth even about her own character as she has stated in interviews, plays Juliet with such style. She leaves us still unsure.

They want us to believe she is bad and yet as "Jack" said he saw that look in her eye. She wants to leave. Question is how far will she go. And as much as Jack may be sucked in by Juliet, I think the same could be said about Juliet with Ben.

This is the LOST I love.

Minus Sawyer's self-righteousness, I actually enjoyed this episode. I think it was great how they integrated scenes from past episodes. It all fit together really nicely.

This was a fantastic episode - and gave me even more reason to love Juliet's character. No matter what side she's one (I think she's just on her own side), you can't deny she's one of the most interesting characters we've been presented with. She doesn't take any crap, and she still manages to be completely mysterious.

Plus, she pwned Kate hardcore last week, and I will always love her for that. Best moment on the show. Also, it's nice to see some stellar acting during hardcore emotional scenes, rather than just cringing at how cheesy it usually is *coughKatecough* ;)

Even if Juliet is evil--and I think she's just desperate to escape--they cannot kill off or write out EM. They finally have a strong, complex woman with an incredible acting range.

I still want to know how people get to and from the island. All that sub stuff is very fishy. I really think they must just hurl sedated people out of balloons with parachutes, just like they were Dharma drops. I'm still not sure that once you get on the island you can ever get off.

Loved the Mikhail communications center and seeing that there was massive news coverage of the disappearance of Oceanic 815.

Loved It. Best episode of the season so far, and one of the best Lost episodes of all time. They weren't lying when they said Drew Goddard wrote "continuity p0rn". It was so cool to see them weave so many threads together.

I wonder if Richard is Richard Malkin (Claire's psychic)?

I definitely need to watch this again!

Gotta get some sleep... why does this have to be on so late!?

i agree w/ ausiello when he said this was the best of the season. elizabeth mitchell gave an amazing performance (screaming at ben, laying the smack down on sayid & sawyer). i know she can't be trusted, but i almost cheered when she put sayid & sawyer in their place and snatched that case of meds. they were getting a little too self-righteous for their own good ;)

it's also nice to see jack back on the beach for the first time this season. it has more of an ensemble feel now.

How could this episode be so good but yet some others episodes 'jacks tattoo' be soo bad?

I think in some cases, as in the case you mentioned, the writing was literally on the wall. They knew they wanted to write in a storyline revolving around how Jack got his tattoo, but they didn't have a good foundation when the production took place. Drew Goddard wrote this episode very well and I'm hoping he'll write a Jack episode in the future.

I have been pretty upset with Lost most this season, but this episode was very good. Maybe it helps when the Losties are together again. I'm sure it will get even better when Locke returns.

Fantastic episode. Juliet rocked. Her FB rocked. Ethan and Goodwyn rocked. The Downtown montage was brilliant. And we got a closing montage, too!
The reveal of the private Juliet and Ben conversation was amazing. Jack and Juliet together are amazing and confusing. Sawyer and Kate's reunion made me so happy and brought tears to my eyes. Sawyer teaming up with Hurley and then with Sayid was just totally awesome. Hurley keeping tabs on Juliet: hilarious and heart-warming. Charlie and Claire? Adorable and interesting. Sun and Jin? Actually having a few good lines and being a part of things. Ben is always amazing. Loved seeing him with the bunny satchel again. Loved seeing another scary orange juice scene.
Locke nowhere to be seen? Perfect. Desmond in the background? Perfect.

Only quibble is seeing Claire in peril AGAIN! But since it furthered the plot and was actually a really cool reveal, I'm okay with it.

I loved the episode. Juliet's FB gave soo much information. The whole time I thought Juliet is good. She saved Claire. Jack trusts her. Her scene with Ben in the kitchen. Powerful. I was so shocked at the scene at the end. I cant' believe she was in on it. Wow..that's all I can say.

Okay, I posted what I didn't like in that other thread. Here's what I liked:

That feeling of dread I got when I found out Juliet was lying through her teeth and the Losties may all be in grave danger.

The Charlie/Claire cuteness at the end when Charlie is sleeping holding Claire and Aaron's hands and the whole Charlie/Claire plot in general.

I liked the ensemble feel of the meeting on the beach with everyone discussing whether to trust her.

I'm really scared for the rest of the season now.

Excellent episode, Elizabeth Mitchell was fantastic, good lord she has the wool pulled down tight over the Doc's eyes.

Loved how pretty much everyone save for Jack was putting the screws to Juliet. Sawyer was awesome the whole episode, love his interactions with Sayid anyway, hopefully those two team up in coming episodes and wind up putting Juliet in her place.

One of the best episodes of the season, and the FIRST one that I gave a 10 to in the voting thread. It told a compelling story that answered quite a few things, and brought up so many new questions. So, what happens in one week? I guess we're about 5 island days / 3-5 episodes away from finding out. I can't wait!

I thought it was just great! The flashbacks were so interesting and I loved how they worked in past scenes. And the ending was just so great. I had just been thinking "Wow, I guess maybe Juliet isn't so bad after all" and them wham! Great ending and great acting by Elizabeth Mitchell and Michael Emerson.

And as lots of others have said, I love that the ensemble (minus Locke) is together again. The last time that happened was the end of Season Two..... it's been far too long! But I'm glad it finally happened.

Also, loved that Sawyer and Jack had a macho-type man hug. I want those two to be buddies so badly.

I have never been in the loved it or didn't love it threads.....this was amazing

The only thing I differ in LostLaura....is the most meaningful part to me was Sawyer seeing Jack (overshadowed Kate to oblivion)....god that was moving (Sawyer so wanted Jack to come HOME and be safe).....the respect it revealed was awesome

Juliettes story AMAZING and totally heartbreaking....thank god Jack is who he is....she needs Jack to be on her side

Claire and Charlie....Charlies love and devotion breaks my heart and brings a lump to my throat

God this was good....too good to put into words

I loved this episode. I was on the fence as to whether I liked Juliette or not, and after tonite's epi, I am an official Julliette fan. I love her. She is probably my favorite female character. While I don't care if she is a villain or not (they make the show interesting IMO), I think she is really double crossing Ben to get back at him for never letting her go home sooner.

The acting in this episode was phenomenal.

GREAT episode. I loved the way they answered so many of our questions and so quickly, it was like non stop information coming our way. Before the episode I kept saying how I just didn't like Juliet, how I'd trust Sayid and how he feels. Then, throughout the episode, I gained all this sympathy for her- until the last fb with Ben. Like I said, GREAT episode

Alfred Hitchcock would be proud - bravo.. thank you again, thank you for taking us out the normal tv world. For not testing our intelligence. It is good to see hollywood finally allow writers, producers and director do what they know is best and what needs to be done. I heard once that you think LOST is cool.. and that alone says it all, you do it because you like your work.. it shows.. thanks again..

Definitely the best ep of the season, EM was awesome, emmy worthy. Really good setup for the season finale, I do agree with many others that Juliet has her own agenda (she has crossed Ben before, remember the signs she showed Jack prior to Ben's surgery?).

I think she will play a big part in future eps.

Great episode. I don't think it was particulary great when it came to the on-island stuff, but it was tied up very nicely by the end. I was shocked to see Juliet being announced as a mole like that, as I assumed we'd have to play the guessing game for a few episodes. But now we know she's there for a week (or less depending on how long it took them to get back to the beach), you have to wonder what she's after. I'd guess it's something to do with Claire and Aaron, but what? Considering they already know whatever they did to her worked, how much use can Claire be? Very interesting.

The flashbacks were great to show Juliet in a good light, before hitting us with the twist at the end. And as always it's great to see Ethan again. However it didn't really reveal as much as I'd expected. By that I mean I was expecting Juliet to explain somethigns about DHARMA and the Others to Sayid and co. but it never came. Fair enough, the episode wasn't about that, but they teased it quite a bit.

I was desperatly dissapointed with Sayid and Sawyer in this episode. Juliet got the best of them all too easily. The writers really need to work harder on these two characters at the moment, because they're quite simply underperforming (thats not the acting I'm talking about, their development). Sayid keeps looking like he's gonna do something, and then decides he "doesn't so that anymore", or gets caught. Anybody else bored of this? And Sawyer seems to have settled down considerably. Although I love Sawyer's comedy moments, when he turns to badass mode... well, lets just say in this episode he was a far cry from the "new sheriff" title he adopted last season.

Having said that, the previews show Sawyer upping his game sometime soon.

Overall a good episode, but like last week, it is clearly there to build towards the finale. Filled in a few blanks more than anything. Looking forward to next week's episode, but there's definatly room for improvment. I'd say an 8/10.

If at least 50 percent of the eps filled in blank spots like this one , Lost would get back every old viewer all the way till S1. We even could surmise that the walkie Paolo had was from Mikhail whom Ben said always forgets his. I would also add that that the cig in the Pearl was from Mik too. See TPTB, it's the little things that make us happy. I also loved that crazy face Juliette had at the end there, was that toooo much? What is up with her really, I'm scared after seeing that look.

I am so glad that the majority of my episode replies have lately been going into this topic rather than "Didn't Love It." Once again, Sayid was right in not trusting her, and I'm glad I never really liked her either. That Sun/Jin line made my day, I still don't like the Jacket ship, will anything bad happen to Sun since she's pregnant? I kind of wished that some shots would be in the episode to see what's going on with Locke and the Others, and also with Nikki and Paulo, but I guess it has to wait for another episode. :)

This one was beautifully shot, too, in a way we haven't seen in a while. Is it true they had switched to using Digi, and are now returning to shooting on 35 film? If so...KUDOS! The long shot when Juliet emerged from the sub was heart-stopping.

As amazing as Mitchell was in this episode, I just can't get over Michael Emerson. How can someone so obviously villanous be so sympathetic? Someone said this episode played out like a Hitchcock movie...Emerson's performances are consistently Hitchcock-worthy. Can't wait to see him and O'Quinn together again: friggin' dynamite.

Loved this episode.

I always suspected Juliet wasn't being honest but I must admit she fooled me during the episode and at the end I was kicking myself.
Sayid is right again but she really showed him and Sawyer who's boss.
Great scene's with all of them and lots of Claire for a non-Claire centric episode.

I fear for Sun now though :ermm:

Finally - an episode I liked and enjoyed. Well written, good involvement of characters, great development. Just begs the question why this calibre of story telling couldnt have occured earlier and why all the candy floss in between.
But hopefully things continue on the incline.

Once again, the ratings for "Lost" increased, which means that the word of mouth is getting around: the writers are doing exactly what they promised to do this season. In fact, other than a few missteps here and there, the season is shaping up to be very, very good. With a total of 7 episodes left (counting the finale as a two-part epic), there's a lot of time for the season average to keep rising. More episodes like this, and I have the feeling that a lot of the silly complaints from earlier in the season will be a distant memory.

Here's my review for Lost 3.16: "One of Us":

http://www.entil2001.com/series/lost/season3/lost3-16.html

Overall, this episode was one of the best of the season, delivering some answers to long-standing questions and setting the stage for a massive season finale. The central character provides a unique perspective, linking several events over the course of the series and placing a number of plot threads into context. Questions still abound, but this is a great step in the right direction.

WOO WEE!! What a great episode! So much goodness!

I can't help feel really sorry for Jack though. Because he honestly (and sweetly) believes Juliet. When whatever is going to happen because of her being there happens, Jack is going to be hated and humiliated. It reminds me of organized crime movies, like Donnie Brasco. Jack is personally vouching for this evil woman. Assuring people who have so much trust in him that she is on the up and up. And he is so wrong. It makes me sad. I like Jack. :frown:

I loved the way Juliet's face changed according to her situation. What a fabulous actress Elizabeth is. I love to hate Ben, but I never want to hate Juliet. I think that she just wants to get off the Island so badly she'll do anything...including turning against Jack OR Ben.

This was a fabulous ep, so many questions answered, and so rapid-fire, I had trouble assimilating it all.

Loved it--and hope the other 5 to come will live up to the Great Expectations that have now been raised.

Here's to more great eps penned by Carlton Cuse & Drew Goddard! Thank-you, guys.

A Good Episode !!!

But I got some cribbin to do especially regarding our doc. I think I have started to hate Jack. He is acting snobbish, insular, irritating & and like an absolute IDIOT.
I so very hoped Sayid or Sawyer would give him a hard punch in the face & ask him to sit in a corner...no dinner for you tonite Doctor.
I, for one, surely wouldnt have gone with the whims of a doctor, who seems to have lost his marbles, on this one. I would protest hard.

How can he & others fall for Juliets words. So many of us thought its Ben's ploy to plant Juliet amongst the Losties. I mean after all they have been thru (like the previous others winnin their confidence & then screwin them) wont they be on their guard be4 trustin others.

That was the only thing that irritated me apart for the RETARD Jacko.

But I like this epi!

I just wanted to say that I loved this episode also ! I loved Juliet's flashback, in which it showed us how she came to the Island and what had occurred during her time since being there. I loved that it finally resolved the issue as to why they had brought Juliet to the Island because they really did need her fertility expertise. I loved that we found out that the pregnant women were dying because of complications of an unknown cause. It also clued us in on why Ben is so hellbent on taking the children because the Others can't have any. I also loved the way Sayid was going to rip into Juliet...he is probably the most level headed Lostie qualified to do it. I was also really impressed by the reunion scene with Jack and his fellow Losties...Sawyer even gave him a hug...awe ! And even though I wasn't fooled at all by Juliet (not having good intentions on being there with them), I was rather pleased watching Ben give her,her instructions before he had left. Excellent episode ! It rocked !

I liked this episode but it doesn't top Flashes Before Your Eyes which I thought it's the best episode of 3rd season but this one is in 2nd. Anything that is directed by Jack Bender is always SO GREAT!

I hope Drew Goddard would write a season finale one of those days for Lost including Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse along with Jack Bender directing. It'll give a huge blowout.

I love that I don't really know what's going on with Juliet. I'd like to think Jack really does trust her and she proves him right by turning on Ben, but I don't mind evil Juliet either.

Very well played, Lost!

Loved this one.
Great twist at the end - I knew there was something dodgy about her!!!
