Really, really good episode. Deserves a 10.
Juliet is such a brilliant, smart character ! The scenes between her and Sun were touching.
The flashback was interesting, eventhough its ending was predictable.
Now, I am really glad that you know who is alive.
Desmond was geat as usual (appart from his beard, don't you think its fake ? ;0)
And the ending is a 100 % OMG WTF at its best !!!!

Gave it an 8. Nice character-based episode. I was lead to believe this was a Jin episode so I was a little disappointed that he was barely in it.... come to think of it, if Jin were to die, he would have about the same screen time as he has now with appearancse in Sun's flashbacks. :undecide:

Great, great performance by Yunjin Kim! I love Sun so much, I think she should be the lead female character of this show! She wouldn't take Juliet's non-answers!

Another Lostie fated to die...:frown:  I don't want anyone to die!!! The Others yes, but none of the original Losties!!! I've always thought that Sun and Charlie had much in common (http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showpost.php?p=1467965&postcount=1250) and being marked for death is another element to the list. I hope they both make it.

As for the ending, I don't get why it should such a big shocker... I assumed they were all presumed dead. They could have found part of the plane and thought that everyone on it was dead. Unless I didn't understand the ending correctly. A real shocker would be that every body was accounted for, meaning that maybe they were not on flight 815 in the first place.

Excellent eppy. The ending is amazing. Not in the litteral sense of it, but in the meaning of it. The stage is set now. With the may 2nd eppy supposedly containing the OMG moment we were waiting for, those last words spoken, to me, mean the final con was set in motion for our Lostees.

9 outta 10.

Another great episode, with some very interesting revelations, and a great ending. I gave it a 9. I loved having such a Sun-centric story too, I've never been more impressed with her character than I was tonight. She is such a strong woman. Juliet is still confusing, she seemed quite kind in this episode actually.

Brilliant, continuity from the last episode with the parachutist which is nice. A touching story with Sun and quite possibly the best last 30 seconds of any episode yet.

Outstanding.

easily the most boring episode ive seen in ages until the last 9 seconds. i gave it a one out of ten. the dialog was horrible, slow moving, viciously obvious for BOTH "story lines"

its been 2 hours just to have someone land and pull a stick out of them.
sorry guys, just a little too slow for me.

Excellent episode - I rated it an 8. I can already see people complaining it was too slow. I thought it was quite interesting. The Sun/Jin story has had the potential of being boring but has always been so dramatic. Seeing what has happened in their relationship and the choices each has made defines their characters so well. You could see in the moment when Sun lied to Jin about the money (probably the first time she lied to him) that their relationship was doomed. That and it was her fault Jin was forced to work with her father instead of being his floor manager. I could see why Sun was so happy the baby was Jin's even if it meant her probably death. She had lied so much to him and caused a lot of their problems - it was nice to be able to have something good together. I liked the other part of the story as well, the twists with Mikhail and the last few seconds. Good stuff! This season is continuing to be great. Bring on next week!!

Really great Episode! The Sun/Jin FB's are always some of my favorites!

Question: Is Sun ultimately responsible for what Jin was doing for her father (being the heavy - the hit man - the ganstah/mobstah) before they left for the States??

I had to give it a 7. I thought it was a totally quality episode, but Sun kept saying "I want answers!" (A statement I was nodding in agreement to) and Juliet never provided them. I just wish we could get some any information on what the Others are doing.

Seriously people you are rating this a good episode? Wow. I agree with you FX. HORRIBLE dialog. HORRIBLE acting. I laughed out loud at the last scene....you have got to be kidding me. I have been a fan from day 1 but for me this rivals some of the turkeys from season 2.

A 9. An interesting FB with new revelations. Sun and Jin make me so sad. Lies upon lies upon lies.
Parachutist and Mikhail. Awesome.
Mysteries: awesome.
Charlie, Hurley, Jin were all awesome.

Really good episode with great surprises.

Gave it an 8 - really liked it. I always like the Sun/Jin epis. But please PTB, don't make her die!!! Let her be the first pregnant female that Juliet saves.

Loved the ending but I'm not sure what to make of it. First the parachutist is speaking Italian, then English - what's up with that?

Since a 10 in my opinion is absolute perfection and should be nearly impossible to achieve, 9 is actually the realistic perfection to shoot for and that's what I gave it. ;)

9 of 10

Another awesome episode in the series since the hiatus was concluded. I think the interaction between Jin, Hurley, Desmond, and Charlie continues to be dynamic. Mikhail's reappearance is a huge development and is inspiring many theories. I am going to enjoy reading all the speculations on this matter. I really enjoyed the dialogue between Jin and Sun, especially the line (paraphrased) "if it was before the crash Jin is not the Father, if it is Jin's baby I will die." They bpth put on terrific performances. The reveal at the end that the wreckage of flight#815 was found and there were no survivors is another great twist. Tis Lost at it's best, thought-provoking and entertaining. I can't wait until next weeks episode. :)

Lost is cookin' along. Consistently great on all levels. I was pleasantly surprised by the fleshing out of Sun and Jin's story. At least the reason why he did her father's dirty work is not so two dimensional as i once thought. I was especially impressed with Yunjin's acting. For those who say the story is progressing too slowly, in terms of physical events, maybe, but in terms of inner progress -- spiritual and psychological -- nothing on TV can touch Lost. I very rarely get this excited about a show. This ranks up there with The original Twilight Zone and Classic Star Trek.

I gave it an 8, though maybe it deserved a 9. The flashbacks were a bit uneventful from what I can tell. Though it's great to see more of Yunjin. The things that I liked: Patchy saying that the "rules are a bit different" on the island. Something we kind of figured, but always nice to hear one of "them" say it. The scene with Sun and Juliet in the medical hatch was touching.
But that ending...omg? It has to have been a staged crash they found..just has to be. Or does it???
omg..

I gave it a 7 but it was really about a 7 ½. I didn’t enjoy the flashbacks very much and never really have with Sun/Jin. They are always predictable to me. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the characters (very much), it’s just their backstory that leaves something to be desired.

The ending was by far the best part of the episode. But I, just like everyone else, am not sure what to make of it. I had hoped for a little more info.

I gave it an 8. I would have given it a 10 for the ending, but the FB's were a little pointless and dull for me. I love love love Sun and Jin but not their FB's, in fact I don't care if I see another FB from anyone but Ben at this point. But the epi in general was really good. I am glad Mikail is still alive. There is a cool factor about him.

I gave it a good solid 8 because I love Jin and Sun, and continue to enjoy the "camping" foursome. So I'm overlooking the irritants in the scoring.

* Enjoyed the FB - always love the Kwons, though I'm sorry to see Jin didn't get a centric this season. They really had a twisted "Gift of the Magi" thing going there.

* Loved Mr. Kwon Sr. Sweet man, and it's nice to know at least one of our Losties was raised by a parent with a good soul.

* Enjoyed Sun confronting Juliet and wanting answers. It's a treat to watch somebody ask questions.

* Sun being happy the baby is Jin's, even if the prospects of carrying it to term are poor to nil - very emotional.

* Juliet continues to be ambiguous, but in an entertaining way.

* Enjoyed seeing Jin kick some butt. Des was wrong, and too sympathetic toward the Others IMO. He was spouting their rhetoric with that body count for either side business.

* Enjoyed Charlie's look when Hurley told Patchy about the phone. Charlie was right, they should have brought Patchy back to camp with them, and they could have managed that fine as it only takes two to carry a stretcher.

* I'm delighted parachute-girl is expected to make a quick recovery. Can't wait to see how the Losties will react to a possible rescue attempt... even if it was originally intended only for Desmond.

The irritants:

* Juliet looked like an idiot talking about when Sun might have conceived, asking when Sun last had sex instead of when she last menstruated. Dumbest line in the series to date.

* Was irritated by parachute-girl speaking in tongues for no reason. She speaks fluent English, and even half conscious she must have registered she was surrounded by people speaking English. It just seemed like a needless plot device to allow Patchy to hear she hadn't come to the island alone and have the Losties not know. What they don't know about the island would fill volumes already.

* Sun has every right to wonder if Jack has changed since the last guy who spent time alone with the Others came back and shot two Losties. Kate's puppy dog devotion to Jack is making her look stupid at this point, and it's finally wearing down my Kate love. I was right there with Sun, "Go away, Kate."

* Missed Sawyer and Sayid. At least Claire got a cameo.

Pretty good episode, very emotional. I knew that the baby would be Jin's. I'm sad that Locke wasn't on, but I kind of figured he wouldn't be. At least I had Desmond!
Didn't much like the ending because what the girl said has been said so many times in the theories board etc. that it wasn't shocking. I don't know what it means exactly for our survivors, but I'm sure they'll make us wait in agony to find out more!

Will I lose my "street cred" if I keep giving every Season Three episode a 9 or 10? Because I felt this was another big 10, babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another solid, solid 10!!!!!! I don't just keep giving episodes 9's and 10's this season because I love LOST so much, I love LOST so much because it is such a 9 and 10 show! Was going to give it an 8, but Jin and his Patchy butt-kicking deserves another point in itself. I like Sun no matter what you guys say. :p I was so happy that the baby is Jins. I loved how she was so smiley to Jack in the very beginning of the episode. The Jin and his father stuff is heartbreaking, as well as Sun now being on the same road as Charlie. I hope Juliet can save her in time. Ughh, I don't want anyone to die!

TPTB continue to fill in the little gaps for us--even ones we didn't know existed. We now know how Jin got wrapped up in "that side" of the Paik Empire. Terrific. Slowness is relative--I thought the character revelations in the Sun story quite compelling, and the bewildering scenes in the jungle around the parachutist and the Other (no spoiler needed, I hope!) gave a nice balance to the paced revelations of the Sun/Juliet story.

I'll give this one another solid 8.

High points for me:

The return of Mikhail!
Jin vs. Mikhail!
The parachutist saying "I'm not alone" in Portuguese.
Sun is responsible for what Jin became while working for her father.

Juniebun
04-26-2007, 10:20 AM
I liked it and gave it a solid 8. Jin and Sun...there's so much love there, but so much deception...

That Patchy...he's a troublemaker and a half! If healing works very quickly on the Island, what about dead people coming back? I know. Dead is dead, but I couldn't help but think that the Others have some way to bring people back from the dead. I know that Patchy could have been Smokey, but still...

For the sake of being repetitive - another 8 from me for another solid episode this second arc of the season.

Sun/Jin episodes always have a special "feel" to them (some might argue the feeling "boring") but I always thought they were quite touching and romantic in a tragic kind of way. This one is no different for me, even though I understand there were different writers at work here.

Loved everything Sun - her eyes say sooo much even when she's not speaking. Loved Mikhail in this one, too. What a character, and yeah! Why ISN'T he dead?!

And finally - if the plane's wreckage has been found and there are no survivors of flight 815, what does that mean for Michael and Walt...?! :eek2:

Since this was another Sun and Jin episode, I am very surprised that I enjoyed this. Even the flashbacks were great! This is probably the best Sun/Jin episode since House of the Rising Sun, or maybe ...In Translation. Awww, it's Jin's baby, so sad and yet so right. Very well played. I loved Juliet wanting to give good news.

I'm also glad Mickhail's not dead. The Jin/Mickhail smackdown was great. And Mickhail always knows exactly what to do. He's so smooth. No regrets about his revival here. He sure is an interesting character.

I gave it an 8.

Wow, is it just me or is the Rating Thread indistinguishable from the Loved It Thread? :D

I gave it a 5. It was 35 minutes of talking about things we already knew, with 10 minutes of actual (new) plot development.

Sun now knows Jin is the father. The Losties now know they're presumed dead. And Mikhail conveniently survived the fence. Shake well, add filler.

Well. What can I say? I love Lost! :D

I love Sun more that I ever did before. She was genuinly happy about the news, that's true love and the sign of a strong woman.

Juliet is one of the greatest characters, she is fantastic mostly because when she is lying she is wrapping it up in 97% of truth. I love clever women!

Patchy is alive, as I was spoiler-free on this, my jaw really dropped to the floor. Oh creepy day!

OMG, is that girl a walking dictionary or what? Veeeery suspicious. And I doubt it very much she is there for rescue.

That, and a kickass Jin, action-hero Desmond, confident Charlie and a truly cluless Hurley... made it worth a 10!

We are still a little fuzzy on the scenes with Mikhail. Why were they necessary? How will it impact things later? But, that's all part of the ride, right? We give it 8/10. The Charlie, Jin, and Hurley stuff is the best. We love those scenes.

Well, I suppose there is the possibility of an operation for Sun to save her and not the baby. Whether that would happen on the Lost Island remains to be seen. The Others seem content to let their women die. And, would the operation actually save Sun's life??

I don't want her to die either. I loved that she didn't take any crap from Juliet and demanded answers, even if she didn't get them all.

I must say i'm surprised with this season i'm reall enjoying it even if first they gave me ep 3.03 that was imo the worst episode ever, hated it from the begining till the end, from the first 6 flashbacks i only loved Sun/Jin's and Eko's. Jack's was an ok flashback, Sawyer's was repetitive, Kate's was pointless and i'm not even going to talk about Locke's wich is my fav character... DOC was imo one of the best episodes of the season, Yunijin Kim was amazing, and i enjoyed her chemestry with Elisabeth, they were great togheter. Once again i'm surprised with the flashback, cause season 2 Sun/Jin's flashbacks were not that great, it was so touching and emotional, all the actors were great especialy Mr. Kwon! We had a lot of revelations , Jin's the dad, Why Juliet is in the beach camp, more explanations about pregnant weman dying, The woman said she wasn't alone in Portuguese and only Mikahil understood it, and they are supposed to be death...

I really hope they are not killing Sun, she's the best actress, together with Elisabeth of the regular cast! Gave it a 10

Gave it an 8. There were moments when it shined and I might have given it a higher score except most of it was sluggish and some things very questionable, e.g. Sun's sudden and inexplicably total trust in Juliet, Desmond's trust in Mikhail and willingness to release him just because,"I gave my word", etc. The whole fertility thing is boring. But I loved Jin's father, with his kindly face and warm smile. And I did like the WTF? ending even though I think TPTB are setting us up for a big disappointment.

I really liked this episode. I gave it a 9. EM is a really good actress and I loved the character drivenness of this episode, since I'm guessing that:

there's going to be some pretty stunning action soon

And so yeah. There were a few things that were meh, like I found Hurley's opps to not be convincing at all, which was weird and some of the flashbacks were only all right. For this episode to have gotten a ten it needed to be like TMFT or One of Us or FBYE.

Less Kate (preferably coupled with no Sawyer)= better Lost.

It's a rule of thumb.

It's still a more sluggish part of the season after Paravion, MFT and the outstanding One Of Us but it had the good fortune of following last week's suckfest.

Yunjin Kim and Elizabeth Mitchell are gorgeous and talented and served the story very well. Let's hope the story serves them better from now on.

That last scene was exciting. It's an answer that demands more questions, but at least it's not the answer to "what do Jack's tattoos mean", which no one cared about. Mikhail! The radio! Juliet saying "I hate you". This epi was awesome.

When I saw Patchy standing there, all I could think is "I told you so, we told you all so!" That's for all those folks here who think we over scrutinize! There was a thread about Patchy having some kind of clump on his ear and we were all speculating about it being some kind of fake blood theatrics. People thought we were nuts!
It just goes to show you that they don't screw up,...if they do, they let us know.

Outstanding Episode! I personally thought the flahbacks were the best Jin and Sun have ever had. I like the twist that it was Sun's fault that Jin had to send "Messages" for Mr.Paik. The On-Island events were ground breaking! Elizabeth Mitchell continues to play Juliet Wonderfully. Bringing Mickahil back was a risky move on the writers part, but I think it has opened a whole new range of possibilites on how far the Island can heal a person. The final scene of this episode was unexpected to say the least.

I gave it an 8

I mean, the storylines were interesting. I mean, the shockers that were supposed to be shocking (Mikhail, Juliet's reason for being there, the finding of 815) just didn't really shock me. I mean, I found them cool twists, but it did not make my jaw drop. The flashback was really cool, I think it was awesome to see how much Sun knew of Jin's past.

The whole episode was good. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. But then, I don't think it deserved a 7 or 9 either. It was just good... I can find no real faults.

I gave it a 6. It was entertaining but, once again, was mostly filler. I feel like I'm on the slowest roller coaster in the world when watching this show. I don't get the love for Juliet either. She bores me. And can we please just kill Charlie and get it over with.

this episode had the first cliff hanger that has blown my mind in quite a while; however, the kate/sawyer subplot was weak and i was aexpecting larger juliette reveal at the end. great ep, though. gave it a 7

I gave this one an 8
I enjoyed it, but it didnt bowl me over totally like MFT did. Good cliff hanger, but when are we pleeeeeaase gonna get some answers instead of more and more questions? There seem so many "new" things to think about, I keep forgetting about the "old" ones - like Micheal/Walt, giant feet on the island, where has Rousseu gone, what has happend to Locke and his dad etc etc........confused, you bet !!!

But loved the Jin/Sun flashback as it gave us a full view of their relationship before they came to the island and I just feel soooo sorry for poor Sun - such a double edged sword.

All in all a good, but not totally brill, episode!!

i gave it a 7 ,just like i did with Catch -22,although comparing to Catch 22 ,this one was far better!way !Sun and Jin were amiable in this episode, different to the aggravated ,distressed couple weve gotten used to!i like them a lot!and Jins dad made me cry.And Juliet creeped me out once again!
it wasnt that big of an epi, just your average stuff, but definately not bad written like last weeks one!so 7 it is!
hmmm,im a bit large with grades!

The best thing about this, of course, was just seeing what the hell Juliet was up to. I gave it a 10. I loved it.

Very good episode. One of my faves of this season so far. I loved the Sun and Juliet scenes.

Excellent episode, and very interesting! I was surprised to see Sun threaten her blackmailer as she did, just because she seemed against using her family's power like that before. I liked the scenes between her and Juliet. They were very touching, both in the happiness and in the probability of Sun's death. Also really liked the "I hate you" at the end of the episode. Loved this eppy because it told us so much about the characters.
