So, Jack's dad is connected to four characters now. He is directly responsible for both Jack and Ana Lucia being on the plane. Could he be the one behind the Claire psychic scam? If he has pulled strings in her life before, is it possible that he wanted her on that plane?

What is his significance?

perhaps then that is why Jack found an empty casket...because his father is behind the reason they are on the plane...he is not really dead...he may be on the island himself looking over all this..maybe even "HIM"(the magnificent, brilliant man). He has been connected with a lot of them now..and seems to hav a lot of influence on how they are wher they are now. Hummm?

I believe he's really dead.
TPTB have said that when someone dies on the show...they stay dead.
Jack identified the body from what I recall.

well if he is dead, is there some significance behind is connection to all these characters, or do they just like the character?

I think it's possible he's behind the psychic scam. He seems to have the means to find out whatever he wants to about people, so he could have found out about Claire's pregnancy and her adoption plans, then arranged for the baby's "new" family in the U.S. Maybe he was planning on adopting the baby or at least being in the child's life in some way since he wasn't able to be in Claire's as much as he says he wanted to be.

Except he was anything but magnificent (though I don't doubt his intelligence). He tells Sawyer he's "weak" and knows he was never the man his son managed to become.

Here's the ultimate problem with the Christian is Him theory: would a powerful man, the head honcho of a super sekkrit organization not be able to pull his strings to save his career? Would he just be stripped of his license and ultimately end up dead in an alley in Sydney?

He's just cool like that. Christian often rambles about fate and hope and these are important buttons the writers like to push.

lol:biggrin: I think it is just what it is, Christian had an affair with Claire's Mom, they had Claire, eventually Claire and Jack will figure out their half brother and sister, and the storyline is left open for many more eppy's ..Good for us!

This connection was actually hinted at in In "Two for the Road," where Jack's father (Christian) argues with Claire's mother about seeing his daughter. At the time, it was thought that it was this dispute that triggered his flight to Australia.

Matthew Fox had some comments on that episode here. (http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2006-08-16-lost-q-and-a_x.htm)

Pretty cool to see it finally confirmed.

ETA: They lady Cristian argued w/ was Aunt Lindsay, not Claire's mother.

So does this mean the mom gets out of a coma? Or is it just another inconsistency? :undecide: Because Xian talks to Claire's mom pretty soon before the crash.

I was just thinking that, is Christian talking to clare mum or to her antie at the door demanding to see his daughter? or it is another inconsistency?

I'm thinking that lady Christian argued with at the door was the sister.

I also believe it was the sister. She was very combative when they were in the hospital.

I think Christain wanted to see Claire, but did not know where she was. He went to Claire's mom's house and talked with dear ole sis. She was the one that yelled at him and would not tell him where Claire was.

I think Chrisitan is ex-Dharma, as well as Claire's mom and aunt. It'd be the first real connection between the passengers and the island.

I think he was talking to her aunt in that scene, not her mom. I believe I remember him calling her Lindsey.

It was Aunt Lindsay in TFTR. The credits have the same name and actress listed. I was totally confused about the timeline thing at the beginning of last night - I was like "Hey! She was alive in TFTR!" But, we just made an incorrect assumption back then that she was the mom and not the aunt.

Could it be that Christian really went "down under" to turn off the life support on Claire's mom. Not really to see Claire, and that is why he needed a body guard, Ana Lucia.. Remember he told Claire not to keep her mom alive for all the wrong reasons.

Except that the argument is with the aunt.

Yea, that makes more sense... almost started another conspiracy there.

Just had a thought maybe that is why Jacks mom was kinda nasty when she said that he was in Austriala and that Jack had to go get him, I also had to commet that JACK and SARAH could be the PARENTS that the psychic wanted Clarie to go meet yeah I know that they were not together but maybe Jacks dad did as you say and pulled some strings, Maybe he was hopping that his family would accept her and the baby without any questions
