With Claire now aboard the bandwagon, I think Sayid is the only character left who has no (known) conflict with his father.
What do you think? Is there any significance in all of the characters having daddy issues?

We do know that Sayid's father was a war hero, which leaves a story wide open in which Papa Jarrah expects his son to follow in his steps, but of course Sayid despises his job in the military, thus letting his old man down.

Desmond had to take care of his family after something happened to his father. We don't know what happened to him, but the possibilities are there.
Also, don't you remember Charlie's dream sequence with his daddy butcher chopping at baby dolls? I mean, sure it was a Beatles reference, but I doubt Charlie would dream that if his Dad was a stand up guy.
To the OP, we've known that Claire had daddy issues since 'Raised By Another' back in season one. Her boyfriend Thomas mentioned her "daddy abandonment crap" while breaking up with her.

Yep. So she must have told Thomas all about it. Ugh, too bad she fell for him. He was a loser. Poor Claire!
