Aaron was wrapped in a blanket marked "Bondi Beach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bondi_Beach)"...

Bondi Beach (pronounced "Bond-eye" with a long i, or bóndai) is a popular beach in the suburb of Bondi, New South Wales (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bondi%2C_New_South_Wales) in Sydney, Australia. It is situated in the Eastern Suburbs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eastern_Suburbs_%28Sydney%29) is about one kilometer long and roughly seven kilometers from the center of the city. Large numbers of tourists visit Bondi Beach throughout the year, and many Irish and British tourists spend Christmas Day there.

Surf Life Saving Australia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surf_lifesaving) has given different hazard ratings to Bondi Beach in 2004. While the northern end has been rated a gentle 4 (with 10 as the most hazardous), the southern side is rated as a 7 due to a famous rip current (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rip_current) known as the "Backpackers Express" (also known as the "Bondi Tram" or the "Bronte Express" because you would supposedly end up at Bronte - two beaches south - if caught in it). In actual fact, there are up to five rip currents operating along the beach, the Backpackers' Express being the one closest to the designated swimming area. There is an underwater shark net (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark_net) shared, during the summer months, with other beaches along the southern part of the coast.

Interesting, considering how Joanna disappeared while swimming, and how Claire almost drowned...

"Bondi" or "Boondi" is an Aboriginal word meaning "water breaking over rocks" or "noise of water breaking over rocks."

We actually saw the water breaking over the rocks, when Desmond got the bird and told Claire that Charlie died (broke his neck on the rocks)...

I don't see how they could actually be on the coast of Australia, unless there is something very bizarre going on (and we know that there must be).;)

Wasn't Joanna returning home from a diving trip? Maybe it was her blanket/towel and that's where she had been?

Could be...but I believe that some of the info about Joanna was from the LOST Diary, and therefore, not canon. That Joanna was a "strong swimmer" is canon, IIRC (mentioned in the dialogue when Jack/Boone tried to save her).
