first....I dont believe Locke is a "other" IMO he is just trying to get rid of any possible way of contacting the outside world..for some reason..who knows selfishness for his disablilty or what have you or mabie the "island" told him too ..I think it is more likly that Danelle is a "other"

Perhaps Hanso...gaining strength with other like Mittelos Bioscience, and Dharma Initiative which in turn works with the pharmasutical companies...food companies..even candy bars..mabie somehow they are trying to create this eutopian society..through this process..but instead of the "god" its a Godlike company with the capabilities to longevity to animals..gene research...etc etc..mabie that is why the main losties even the new ones introduced..all have names links to great political philosopher's...even down to the intial hatches layout straight out of mythology..another reference to a god.
