Did anyone feel like patchy faked his death in regards to his " when your guard is down i will not hesitate to kill you" comment ? although it looked all very real with the sounds but when kate got to the other side she looked at him as if it wasnt real blood and i was expecting him to jump up and shank her anyone else think that?

Oh man absolutely I was thinking the same thing when the camera was focused on him after Locke and Kate hopped the fence. They didn't even poke him to see if he was really dead.

For some reason I don't think he faked his death. Maybe it was the foam from his mouth. More so I think it was the blood from his ears, really. I'm not sure of the universal look when discovering fake blood, but I have a ballpark of what the look is after seeing someone suffer a brain hemorrhage from sonic weaponry. I think Kate was reacting to the latter.

Okay, in my opinion, that dude is done no doubt. Two reasons:

A) He was like a bloody puss filled rain bird. I don't care who you are, if you shoot blood and random junk out of your dome and fall over in front of an unknown security system, you're toast.

B) Have we all been watching this show? Just about every oportunity we get to face an other and have them offer some solutions to our questions, they get rolled like a philly blunt or some amazingly distracting thing goes on. Did you seriously think Blinky was going to be the rosetta stone? I'm surprised we got as much as we did from that dude.

Anywho, yeah, I'm pretty sure that guy is done. Too bad, he seemed like a cool charachter, but hey, so did Mrs. Klugh. Tie up the ends and burn the candle. Next week looks just as strong as the last few!!!!!

Yeah, as was 'dead Boone', and Claire's mum's eyes where moving and fluttering. It's just difficult to lie still for long periods of time.

Although I believe he is dead there was a scene where you saw him lying on the ground where he was clearly breathing as you can see his chest move up and down. Of course the actor who plays him wouldn't be dead so we can forgive him for breathing.

I think he's toast, too.

At first I thought he might have had a cyanide pill hidden under his tongue. Thought he was psyching them out to make them think the fence is working when it's actually not. That would be devious! (and remember, he didn't want any water when Kate offered). However, I've done a bit of online searching and can't link bleeding ears with taking cyanide or a similar poison. It could explain the foaming, but not the brain trauma. So, I'm 99% convinced he's dead and the fence was working. Still, I would have liked to see them throw a rock through it or something, just to be 100% sure. :ohwell:

I agree that he looked like he was still breathing when Locke and Kate were "examining" his body. PLUS, the musical score seemed to be indicating some kind of a jump moment, as if he were going to lunge at them from the ground or something. I definitely would've shot him in the knee or something to test whether or not he's actually dead.

I think the actors on this show are all great, but yeah, when it comes to a shot of someone's corpse, they all seem to lack the ability to hold still for the shot. Patchy may be dead, but the actor who played him was definitely breathing in that final shot.

Even though he seemed completely dead, I keep having this sneeky suspicion that he isn't. Every second after he 'died' I kept thinking, "Ok, now he's going to jump up and run or kill them. Ok....now. Or now."

its so unfortunate he died.i wish its all a big scam.maybe theothers arewatching our losties and in order to prevent em from crossing the barriers and emerging to their site,they set up this small play by unleashing this weird sound and making Mikhail seem as hes meeting his death.maybe its likethat.,...but its kind of unlikely.,,....if only..:frown:

No, I think he is a goner. TPTB have said when folks look dead or have died, they are dead.

What bothered me the most was: Did the writers have him be taken by the Losties just so he could tossed into the fence? I do suppose they needed something live to see if it was working.. but still... what a waste of information!

I have to admit, though, that I was half expecting him to sit up and strangle Kate when she was peering over his body. It does bug me how no one ever seems to check a body for a pulse on this show... it would've been nice, for example, to see them confirm that Mrs. Klugh is actually dead, if indeed we the viewers are supposed to reach that conclusion. But hey, I can't say I'd blame them if they do things like this just to keep us coming up with wild theories about how so-and-so isn't really dead. ;)
