I'm surprised no one has really mentioned this but when we saw Jack's fathers flashbacks before did he show up at the Aunts house in the rain to see claire when she was pregnant? And the Aunt prevented him from seeing her. Jack's dad's drinking makes alot more sense now cause it seems in the storyline of lost that we are given that her pregnancy doesn't happen until long after the initial crash. So that could be what weighed down Jack's dad so heavily and turned him into such a drinker. Jack doesn't know thats why his dad went out to Australia or why he even started drinking. Did we ever hear anything about Jack's mother or have we seen her? Do we even know if Jack had a mom?
The other thing that really stood out to me is that Jack's father talked to Claire about some alternative. That even though she was gone but being kept alive that she still could be saved somehow. I wonder if Jack's father died, so that either Claire's mom could live, or be brought back through some kind of kindered spirit thing. Cause Jack's dad seemed very upset over her death. Isn't really that far fetched at this point with all the other crap we've heard and seen them do.
And now that we KNOW that there is a man, one singular man, that controls everthing to do with this island and how they are accepted into "heaven", why else would Maliki thank him? I have NO doubt in my mind, that he is smokey. When Eko died there was a fist holding him and smashing him against the tree. I think the fist is controlled by the man, Eko didn't repent, the man didn't like his answer, he hadn't changed and he gave him a chance, bye bye Eko. Just a thought let me know what u guys think.
