OK, now it's moved beyond just odd. Rose and Bernard haven't as yet been seen in any episode this season. Have they been written off the show? Anyone hear anything?

View Full Version : Rose and Bernard Have Completely Disappeared? Melikon 03-15-2007, 12:20 PM OK, now it's moved beyond just odd. Rose and Bernard haven't as yet been seen in any episode this season. Have they been written off the show? Anyone hear anything? MacTown 03-15-2007, 12:23 PM I was thinking of this, too. They were a pretty big part of last season's storyline. Maybe they're just chilling out somewhere. Melikon 03-15-2007, 12:26 PM My 7 year old nephew thinks that Bernard has gotten younger in age by like two and a half decades and Rose has done the same plus she's become a white chick. (Paulo & Nikki) :p Grasshopper30 03-15-2007, 12:41 PM Just brought that up last night. I wonder what they're doing. captaindunsel 03-15-2007, 01:27 PM ...and Bernard is the last of the "good guy" Tailies alive isn't he? Hmmm... wentwj 03-15-2007, 01:30 PM The actors are off doing other projects, while its sad they aren't on the show it's understandable. They aren't major enough to be put as central characters, and as such the actors need to do other things to eat. I'm sure they'll be back at some point. Rose disappeared for almost a complete season before right? I'm sure the issue is compounded now that there are two of them, as they BOTH need to have the time to come back and shoot an episode, whereas when it was just Rose she was the only one who needed to be free. In this case I think it's a matter or logistics, not the writers intentionally writing them out. MadWatch 03-15-2007, 01:55 PM OK, now it's moved beyond just odd. Rose and Bernard haven't as yet been seen in any episode this season. Have they been written off the show? Anyone hear anything? I thought that the Rose and Bernard story was basically "finished": They both came to terms that they love each other so much, that they would rather stay on Mystery Island together, rather than return to the mainland, with Rose being sick and all. Their story has "concluded", so that is all we see of them. At least, that is my take on it. Melikon 03-15-2007, 02:18 PM I thought that the Rose and Bernard story was basically "finished": They both came to terms that they love each other so much, that they would rather stay on Mystery Island together, rather than return to the mainland, with Rose being sick and all. Their story has "concluded", so that is all we see of them. At least, that is my take on it. So, instead of killing them off, as is usually the case with characters who have resolved certain personal issues (e.g. Shannon, Ana-Lucia, Eko) TPTB have reduced them to red-shirt status? That's an interesting take. cac_205 03-15-2007, 02:33 PM Don't worry, in one of the later episodes this season, or beginning of next season, in one of the flashbacks it is revealed that Christian Shepard is both Rose and Bernard's father. In case this is a spoiler: I think, although this is unconfirmed, but this episode is rumored to be a polar bear flashback told entirely through comic book panels. I think this is the episode when we finally get all the answers to the island mysteries. Captain_Falafel 03-15-2007, 02:39 PM It would have been perfect to have Rose and Bernard show up in this episode. In SOS Bernard had a rescue idea that puts Rose in danger of dying - just like Claires bird plan was putting Charlie's life at risk. Shame R&B couldn't have appeared as the wise old mentors to the younger couple. Kathleen1 03-15-2007, 02:43 PM I miss Rose also, they could of at least say Rose and Bernard's name or say that Aaron is being watched by them or something they mention other peoples names when they are not seen also littlecub237 03-15-2007, 02:45 PM They are the skeleton's layin' in the cave. ortiz34 03-15-2007, 03:04 PM the better question is, why would anyone really care? At this point, im questioning thier value on the show honestly. I mean, other than nikki/paulo, name 2 other named characters that would have less impact if they were killed off... BillToons 03-15-2007, 03:11 PM Rose and Bernard discovered a fountain of youth out in the jungle and became Palo and Nikki. GreatHeights 03-15-2007, 03:22 PM I know everyone is joking about Nikki and Paulo being Rose and Bernard, but what if there is something to that. What if, as a butterfly effect of the changes Desmond made when he went back in time, Rose and Bernard never got on the plane and Nikki and Paulo did instead? I know its a long shot, but its not completely insane. On the other hand, I thought I had heard somewhere that Rose was sort of integral to the resolution of the mystery. I don't recall where I heard or read it, but specifically, I remember hearing that her from the pilot about the sound of Smokey in the trees being familer was supposed to be of some significance down the line. Passport 03-15-2007, 03:31 PM There was a very interesting parallel drawn between "S.O.S" and "Par Avion" in that Bernard and Claire (respectively) were shown to be adovcating false hope by their spouses. Hope is becoming a very important issue on this show, as is when we should hope and when does hope become 'fool's hope'? I would like Rose to return to help Charlie through this difficult time, as she did wgeb Claire was kidnapped in 'Whatever The Case May Be'. captaindunsel 03-15-2007, 03:41 PM What if, as a butterfly effect of the changes Desmond made when he went back in time, Rose and Bernard never got on the plane and Nikki and Paulo did instead? Ahhhh, the Butterfly Effect. Nice take on that. That WOULD be cool, now that quazi time travel has been introduced via Desmond. redmaria 03-15-2007, 03:47 PM TPTB veclaimedto love the actors and by no means will they have em killed.Rose is a really busy broadway actor soshe cannot live in Hawaii full season |
