Anyone know what he was playing? Could it have been the song him and Sarah played on the piano the night before their wedding?

Well, we saw him play "heart and soul" with Sarah in one of his flashbacks before their wedding. Don't know if that counts :p It's not a hard one to learn.

Well... I may be wrong... but in last episode's thread i raised the question "Has jack turned? (so Jack is playing football)" i think he has now turned (with good motives)... or has he? BIG QUESTION. I think he has.

Nah, Jack hasn't turned. I think this episode showed that while he was working/cooperating with the Others, he was doing it for the benefit of the Losties. He told Kate he's doing it to find rescue for everyone and he'd come back for her. Also, in probably my favorite part of the episode, when Ben asked if he'd leave if it meant Sayid and Kate would stay in captivity, he said he wouldn't. He wasn't leaving for selfish reasons, he only wanted to leave to rescue the other Losties. So while he was using the Others' resources and therefore had to cooperate with them, his motives were selfless - he's doing everything to help the other Losties and therefore, he hasn't turned.

As for the piano :drool: Not to be a fangirl or anything, but that man is something else :smile:

It is only the piano part of the music that is playing during the montage at the end of that episode, when Jack and Juliet are on the boat, Kate and Sawyer are walking through the trees, and Carl and Alex are staring at the stars, etc.

That's pretty cool, and a nice homage to Giacchino since "real-life" Jack would play something from mainstream music, or from those piano lessons his mother undoubtedly made him take. :)
I was so right when I guessed from the previews that the piano would be out of tune in that tropical climate. Tip of the hat to the prop department for that detail.

He was playing the piano in the hotel lounge they were staying at for his wedding ceremony. Sarah joined him in a duet for 'Chopsticks'.

I never pay attention to the background music in this show I swear so I never notice when the music is the same or differet from episode episode?.

What a great scene, from the gorgeous music, to the way it was lit and the wonderful acting from Foxy and Evi. I loved how Jack's so engrossed in the music that he doesn't hear Kate sneaking in and then the look he gives her when he realizes that she came back. Wow.

Indeed. The man is just as intense playing the piano as he is when he's trying to secretly murder Tom by forcing him to exercise and play football.

A brand new one that was written specifically for him apparently (The Jack Show soundtrack ;)). The writers talked about this in the TMFT podcast and they said Matthew Fox doesn't play the piano but he learned how to play this song for the episode. He sold me on it. ;)

Good grief! Foxy learned to play the piano for this epi?!? I was transfixed by the emotion on his face and in his body language, while he played...and then, his delayed "return to reality" when he heard Kate approach. What an incredible actor...
