View Full Version : "I hope that box is big enough for you to imagine yourself a new submarine"
Islandprincess 03-21-2007, 11:40 PM LOLOLOLOLOLOL!
That has got to be the funniest line of the night!
solarman 03-21-2007, 11:42 PM I almost fell off my couch laughing
abbybaby 03-22-2007, 12:11 AM I'm voting best line ever, at least top ten! Kudos to whoever wrote that gem!
RodimusBen 03-22-2007, 12:20 AM Excellent line. Bye bye submarine. The Locke rampage continues.
EllsBells1960 03-22-2007, 12:23 AM Right before Locke said that, I said to my kids "why can't they just wish for a new submarine" - my kids laughed for about 5 minutes after Locke said it - all I could hear was "I can't believe you just said the same thing!!!"
nancy 03-22-2007, 12:24 AM Yes! I so wanted Locke to not allow Ben to psychologically manipulate him again.
Selene1212 03-22-2007, 12:38 AM I like that the only way on or off the island has been taken care of. Now we can concentrate on the full mystery of the island and its inhabitants without the 'rescue' option looming over everyone's heads. It was too much of a distraction from the real story.
wolffootball37 03-22-2007, 12:40 AM this episode was full of great lines, mostly from locke and ben. It was sooo great to see them two together agin!
AJHeuer 03-22-2007, 12:42 AM The entire scene was brilliantly written. You were almost convinced Locke had the upper hand.
Krys Nyteshade 03-22-2007, 12:46 AM Ben's line about how they power the community was line of the episode, IMO. Locke's reaction to it was just perfect too. Very "oh shut up you twat."-y.
Tommy 03-22-2007, 06:58 AM That one line made locke my new favorite character.
Sunflo4477 03-22-2007, 08:39 AM It's up there but I think the best line (& I don't remember word for word) was after Locke asked Ben if getting the man from Tallahassee was a code for him & ben said yes John we have a code for there is a man in my closet with a gun holding it to my daughter's head - I thought that was THE best line of the show. I love ben & his sarcastic comments!
piscescat 03-22-2007, 08:46 AM There were many great lines but that one was especially hilarious. Looks like we may have more Locke/Ben scenes to come and with that more witty exchanges.
RodimusBen 03-22-2007, 09:01 AM Yeah it's a shame it was because of Ben's manipulations, but I think Locke halfway knew that when he was actually doing it anyway. As long as Locke gets to blow stuff up, I am pleased.
lostlocke 03-22-2007, 09:03 AM That line was great!! So maybe if Juliet and Jack still want to leave they will take anthony out of the box and wish for a submarine, then they can go home like they wanted to!!!
My favourite part of Locke/Ben interaction was the very first moment Ben see's Locke and says 'John' in that startled tone, it was so brilliant. I watched that part four or five times before moving on.
Kevonski 03-22-2007, 09:45 AM What I enjoyed about their confrontation is that all along we have thought of the Others as so secret and all knowing, and here is Ben a little afraid of the dark....calling out.... It was great!
dangerousdirk 03-22-2007, 01:40 PM I totally agree, that was by far, the funniest thing I've ever heard come out of Lockes yap. I spit my beer out when I heard it.
Distress Signal 03-22-2007, 02:15 PM If I were in that room with Locke, I would slap him a big high five. BWAHAHAHAA. Best quip of the whole night.
I'm tired of Ben getting the upper hand with Locke. This whole episode was refreshing.
ToutureMeSy 03-22-2007, 02:38 PM It was nice to see Ben act like a big scary cry baby for a change. He is always so damn cocky and grim about everything-last night was the first time, except for maybe during surgery, that you saw Ben as a vunerable character who can be defeated.
Even when Ben was captive in the hatch, he always had that annoying smug little look on his face just begging to be slapped off. The dialogue last night between Ben and Locke showed that Ben can be dominated after all.
And I love that Alex is the one to comment on his manipulative personality. Out of the mouths of children....
LostMyMarbles 03-22-2007, 02:54 PM But COULD Smokey manifest a new submarine? It's an interesting question. We know it can be machinery (clanking/ratcheting sound when it was trying to drag Locke underground, and a few other times, I think). If Smokey is nanites, as I firmly believe it is, it can "grow" in mass by building new nanites from materials on the island.
HoardingHurley81 03-22-2007, 03:30 PM It was great, but would have been even better if he wasnt getting set up the whole time.
Kitsume 03-22-2007, 03:34 PM Yeah, this was probably one of my favorite episodes yet mostly because the confrontation between Locke and Ben. Between the submarine, hamsters, and daughter in the closet lines I was rolling. The best part, however, was how both of them were sparring with their situations knowing the other person could gain the upper hand any moment.
HoardingHurley81 03-22-2007, 03:34 PM I also like the line from Ben "You know a thing or two about boxes, dont you John?"
