We always knew that Locke was the good guy...The island sees him as the good guy also. Maybe the island sees him as a better soul than Ben and is giving him the reality of staying on the island.
What is his thinking about blowing up the sub?
What good does that do?

blowing up the sub means he never has to leave if he leaves he can't walk so that is no good, but he totally screwed everybody else

I really dont see Locke as doing bad things...so I cant imagine him destroying the only means of getting off the island and everyones hopes for his own selfish reasons...

We don't KNOW that Locke wouldn't be able to walk if he wasn't on the island. This was eluded to by Ben, but that may just be a control mechanism. Locke could very well be permanently cured...

Well first of all, he was largely manipulated into it by Ben. But even if he wasn't, I would side with him in thinking that unwrapping the mystery of the island is more important that a bunch of crash survivors getting rescued.

Well I do not think Locke is as good as you do. However I don't think he is evil, maybe just misguided. Maybe he thinks the island is good not only for him but for everyone else as well. I think he will try to justify that the island will give them all what they want or need if they give it a chance.
He has never been much to give people options. Hitting Sayid in the head way back in S1, manipulating Boone, and his actions lately.

Locke is far from being a good guy. From day one he's been out for his own ends. He's right up there with Sawyer as being the most selfish lostie, possibly surpassing him, since Sawyer at least cares about Kate. Locke's out for one person, and that's Locke.
I think he'd kill to stay on the island, literally. And I also think that at some point, it will come down to that, and he'll do it.

If the island healed him, then I don't think that John can leave the island and expect to walk. But I got the impression that Locke thinks there's more to the island than just his mircle cure.

If the reason Locke blew up the sub was so that his father would never find him then he's screwed too...unless he didn't blow up the sub OR that isn't really his father, it's actually the smoke monster

Locke just keeps a different agenta to our other Losties.this is Darlton confirmed.he knows stuff and i guess he knows what hes doing....or follows his gut.but deifnately ,he tracks down a different trail.
whats more i really dont believe the sub is blown up.
too many clues to convince us otherwise!
