I think after this epi I can imagine a coming together of these 2 groups. I can see that the Others may just try to accept some of the survivors into their group depending on their thinking....and their ability to adapt

Now that there is no more communications between the outside world and I beleive that we can believe that now...

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. It seems quite a few of the Losties are content to stay on the island and make the best of it so I could see some of them merging. But I'd hope they would ask a few questions first. Then again this is Lost so they will probably just be happy to have chicken and cheeseburgers once more.

Yeah, that would be the ideal season 4. The Others and the survivors have to unite for a common purpose, and all the tensions will erupt, but eventually new bonds of trust will be formed. End of season 4 would be someone betraying the fragile alliance for selfish reasons. My very early money is on Ben or Jack.

This certainly seems like a path that TPTB are leading us down.

I don't see why you would think the two groups would come together. I just don't see it. It makes no sense to me. Just as the losties would be loath to join forces with those who have pillaged/kidnapped their people, the Others would be averse to unite with those they view as less-than or "damaged goods."

Possible. Especially as Ben said that not all of his people are committed.

So, who do you think will team up with whom? Jack & Juliet will surely be in the same group, for one. Cindy seems to have bonded with the other tailies who were taken, and may not want to go back to the beach. Tom seems loyal to Ben, but also fond of Jack and Kate...possible defection?

Also, what about Aaron? If Claire merges with the Others, will bad things happen? Or is it OK as long as Claire's his primary caregiver? Hmm, merging raises all kinds of questions...

I'm not sure how it would play out... but I'm pretty sure if they just started answering questions it could. And that the answers didn't turn out to be THAT bad, then the losties would be willing to be fine there. But the reason at the moment that the Others seem so bad and unlikeable is because their actions seem so unjustified. They will say that they are good, but not why or how.

And really, everyone in their compound cannot be as involved as Ben. So he, and whoever, would probably keep doing whatever they are doing while people like Hurley and Charlie and Claire and the book club members just hang out in a perfect little community.

I don't see why you would think the two groups would come together. I just don't see it. It makes no sense to me.Me neither. Despite the occasional assertion that they're the "good guys," the Others have done little to redeem themselves of the terrible things they inflicted on a group of plane crash survivors. It would feel like an awful letdown if TPTB suddenly made the Losties act like those things never happened.

On the other hand, if there was a common enemy...

Ill jump in bed with the common enemy theory.

I definitely think the others will merge with the Losties, and season 4 will feature more others flashbacks, id like to see a Ben flashback for one.

But ive got a feeling the the losties will only merge with what is LEFT of the others, seems to me they are headed for some sort of conflict in their camp, who knows how bad its gonna get.
