What looked to be more island paintings in this episode:

above the piano
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-90119.html (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-90119.html)

above Ben's bed
http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-90140.html

in Ben's hallway behind Locke and above the couch

http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-90444.html

and (just because it caught my eye) same link and further down the hallway, a photo of someone in a wedding dress (????)

Other than searching through all of the screencaps, does anyone know of a place to see the various island paintings that have shown up elsewhere?

Ben's reading Hawking's Brief History of Time, too...

There's a Ganesha statue on the left in this screen:

And the woman in the large portrait looks somewhat like Karen DeGroot. Or am I just imagining things?

NICE catch! it looks like the book may be more than just a random easter egg....

Ben was staring at the pictures by the clock in one scene (about 3:20, if I remember correctly), then the clock showed other times, not all in order, and Sayid's watch was clearly shown as 6-something, I think. Maybe more time clues?

Check the table next to the statue - a magazine with a title "A Brief History of Time"!!!

Stephen Hawking strikes again.

I wonder if the woman in the portrait might be Ben's mother?

Also, all the masks hung on the wall and the painting/picture in Ben's room with the circle. I have been looking for a thread on that but haven't found it yet. Anyone look at that yet?

I wish we could get a closeup of the wedding dress photo and the big collage of photos just to the right of it.
I liked all the photos of Alex at different ages by the clock.

Yes, it's Ganesha (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ganesha) - ties in nicely with the reappearance of Richard Alpert. The real Richard Alpert was also known as Ram Dass (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Dass).

Thanks for posting those links!!

I've been thinking about all of these tropical paintings that keep popping up. I doubt they mean anything in and of themselves. But maybe they are meant as signposts. It seems when we first started seeing them, they were from far away, showing the island as a whole from an out-at-sea perspective. (Like Sawyer saying to Jack in Season 1: "You just aren't seeing the big picture, Doc.").

They increasingly depict spots from a closer perspective and further into the interior of the island. And with so many of them in "Tallahassee," I can't help but think they are "ding, ding, ding" signals to really pay attention, that we are getting closer to the truth. ("It's all in the details.")
