Surprised no one mentioned the whole Danielle/Alex/Ben thing -

The Other guards tell Sayid to shut-up when he starts talking to Alex about her mother. We know that they told Alex that her mother is dead too - so now there are a number possibilities that could be concerning Alex's lineage.

Do they Others know about Danielle? Could they have manipulated her into thinking that either she killed them all or that they were sick? Maybe Ben did adopt Alex after they took her from Danielle?

Once again though Danielle ran away when Kate, Sayid & Locke were about to commence their plan - maybe she had been there before.

I'm still under the assumption that Alex was stolen from Danielle as an infant or even pre-birth. Much like they were attempting to do to Claire and Aaron.

Alex was taken at 1 week old, as Danielle said. It was probably just convenient for the Others/Ben to say Alex's mom was dead and Ben raised her as his own. Did you notice the photographs of Alex as a child on Ben's apartment walls?

Danielle probably isn't there to help Kate, Sayid & John... she's there to see her daughter. She wanted to observe first and decide if she would meet her or not. It may be enough to have seen her daughter and know she's ok. I think Sayid or Kate may force the issue and bring them face-to-face.

The look on Danielle's face when she saw Alex was so great, I cannot wait to see when they actually meet. My thoughts are Alex is very smart and I hope she keeps thinking about what Sayid said to her. She will believe that her mother is alive and perhaps go looking for her. That'd be great. She knows that Ben lies to people and manipulates them. Go Alex and find your mom!!

It would be interesting if we could see a backstory for Danielle. I'm sure a lot of mysteries could be solved.

It was a great scene when Alex was told her mother was alive. I agree a Danielle backstory would clear up a lot of things . I was left wondering if she was an original Dharma and whether she was native to the island as well. She seems at times to know the island so much better than even the others/hostiles.

This is my assumption as well. And I am beginning to feel that the stealing of children by the Others is a genuine effort to protect "innocents" from the Dharma-whatever that is still stalking the island.

I love how Danielle can say volumes with one facial expression. When they observed that Jack didn't look like he really needed to be rescued after all, she went off to accomplish her own agenda, seeing her daughter, yet she remained close by if needed.

Does anyone think they will show a Danielle FB at some point?

I keep focusing on her extremely firm insistence that whatever the Others say are all lies. Perhaps it's been suggested before, but is it possible she was tricked into thinking the sickness was real or some other such trickery and therefore was led to kill her companions?

From what I heard,they are planning on having a Danielle flashback in Season 4. I don't know if it's set in stone or not. I remember it being posted somewhere but I can't find the link.

Yes! Also did you notice the one in the top left- the black & white photo. It didn't look like Alex but maybe it was of Ben as a child?

I agree, that would be an awesome twist if Danielle killed her entire team because of something the Others did. Either by making her think her team was sick, or by making her sick. Either that, or Ben took Alex away from Danielle because Danielle really WAS crazy, and was a danger to everyone, even her own daughter.

After all, they are the good guys.;)

Ben also mentioned that a lot (most of?) the Others were recruited from the mainland. Perhaps Danielles ship was carrying some "recruited others" when it came to the island. She was offered a position as an "other", but escaped and became a hermit? Oh, so many possibilities. :confused:

I wondered how she was in the position to see Alex up close (near the sub) when she would have had no idea where Alex would be! It didn't surprise me that she flew under the radar. I do think she has more of a connection with the Others than she's ever let on.
