Did I hear that correctly? John said that Ben left the C4 in Sayid's pack because he wanted John to blow up the submarine. How did Ben do that? I don't think it could have been Danielle. Ms. Klugh was dead and Patchy was tied up. I'm confused.

Wasn't Ben in bed sleeping when they were captured? Locke lied to Sayid and Kate about covering the back of Jack's apartment and went to Bens house. They were captured and Ben didn't have a chance to talk to anyone. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This show is confusing in such a wonderful way.

I believe it was Locke's bag, that was being held by Sayid during the raid. So the others went and got hte bag that Sayid had.

Could be wrong, but thats the impression I got on the 2nd watch through of it. Plus John was bagless in Ben's house, so I'd guess Sayid took his bag.

Otherwise, I'd assume there was a deleted scene with Sayid taking the C4 from him.

That makes sense. For some reason I thought Locke said to Ben: "that's why you left the C4 in Sayid's backpack." This assumes Ben knew Locke had taken the C4 from the hatch. At first I interpreted it as somebody putting it in his bag, but I can see it now. ;)

Until the transcript from the episode is posted, I won't know for certain what Ben said, but my memory was that Ben said that he allowed the C4 to be kept in Locke's bag (not Sayid's) so that Locke could blow up the submarine with it. This didn't mean Ben placed the C4 in Locke's bag back at the Flame, but that he allowed the C4 to remain in Locke's bag after it was captured along with Sayid. I'm not sure why Locke didn't have the C4 with him, and I am not completely positive that it wasn't Sayid's bag after all. But I am pretty confident that Ben was not refering to putting it in the bag in the first place.

However, what I am also pretty confident about is that Ben didn't really know it was there until after the submarine was destroyed. He was just saying that to try to appear to be more in control of the situation than he really was, in my opinion...

The bag had Eko's Jesus stick in it as well, so I'd think it was Locke's since Sayid scoffed at the idea of using it to find the others. Maybe Locke just left it with Sayid when he left to find Ben.

It's confusing, because both Sayid and Locke have handles of something sticking out their packs; Locke has the axe and Sayid has the machete. The pack Alex got was indeed Sayid's. He took the C4 when he found it in Locke's pack in Par Avion, they just never showed him actually putting it in his bag.

I think Locke planned on getting them captured so that he could get his C4 back. He probably realized there were cameras, so he sent Sayid and Kate in specifically to get captured, and went to find Ben himself.
