View Full Version : Sawyer The Good Guy... MinnieVanMommie 03-28-2007, 11:53 PM He really will protect the stuff..for the good of the Survivors... GettinLost 03-29-2007, 12:41 AM Which stuff?? The diamonds he threw away? :34853_huh:  care_n_jim 03-29-2007, 12:43 AM I don't think he went after thinking there was anything of value - he saw the dirt - then found the walkie and thought they were really working with the others - I think he is so afraid of them that he buried the diamonds thinking they could belong to the others and they would come for them Save The Humans 03-29-2007, 12:51 AM I think he really was interested in learning more about these two "corpses." Since somehow, they'd escaped his notice for 80 days (how DID they do that?!). James is a con man. By nature, he wants to know everything about everyone around him, so that HE can stay on top of things. The "perimeter" thing WAS an excuse, though. He wanted to go see what they'd buried. (It's a wonder the spiders didn't get HIM, too!) Glad he dumped the diamonds, though. Obviously, he was agreeing with Sun--of what value are those things HERE?! LostLaura 03-29-2007, 12:52 AM I'm not sure exactly what he was thinking. I think when he found the Walkie, he genuinely did believe they were working with the Others. I think him dumping the diamonds was him finally realizing that all of that stuff is worthless there (something Nikki and Paulo could never seem to come to grips on, though). It might be related to him worrying about Kate and pining over her. Diamonds don't mean as much when he doesn't have his girl? Dolphinjen 03-29-2007, 12:46 PM Diamonds don't mean as much when he doesn't have his girl? I wish he would go after her! I thought this quote was interesting in regards to Sawyer's actions: "Everyone walues things differently. In other words they place their own value on everything that affects their lives. Also from moment to moment they may even change their values. Such as a person, who values diamonds above all else, might be willing to trade a gallon of diamonds for a drink of water to save his life in a desert. What this means is value is a relative thing depending on a need or a perceived need. Yet, how many people will argue and even violently fight over the perceived value of something or some idea only later have an entirely different view point or value." -Sidney Madwed I think Sawyer is definitely growing and beginning to have different priorities. Someone in a another thread said maybe he'll go dig them up. I don't think he will. I think he's changing in more ways than he can fathom he ever would. |
