I really enjoyed this part of the ep. They drew some very clear and obvious parallels between the two couples.
While this was a great part of the ep (especially as we got to see Shannon and Boone again), how do you think that this may be important?

Nikki and Paulo were SO similar to Shannon and Boone- the bosy, obnoxious, vincent of a female paired with a guy who still wants to be with her, but hides information from her? Made me wonder if this storyline was originally planned for Shannon and Boone, but then again, probably not.
We noticed that, too, espc. the part where Nikki says, "I hope we don't end up like those two." Cuz they did end up like Shannon & Boone: dead.
(I'm still thinking they may claw their way out, but I hope they don't. I don't want them to survive cuz I don't like them taking screen time away from the Original Lostaways.)

"Hope we don't end up like those two" -- haha, I thought the same thing!
As far as both/either of them making it out of their graves.... I'm all about suspension of disbelief (especially on this show!), but seriously, come on:
Wouldn't it be safe to assume the weight of the dirt alone would crush their lungs??
No oxygen, but even if they did manage to keep breathing, what exactly is it they'd be breathing? Dirt - their pulmonary systems would be destroyed, from the moisture alone.
And they'd be looking at 6 hours (at least) under the dirt.
If they're not dead.... JJ went against his word re: the anti-Alias, "Dead people STAY dead," statement. (Yeah, they technically didn't die, but buried alive?? They're DONE.)

I thought the way Nikki came out of the jungle and collapsed was very reminscent of Shannon stumbling around the bushes around she was shot.
I didn't think about the parallel between the bossy female and the passive aggresive male but it's definitely there when I did think about it.
