The opening scene with Nikki's run through the jungle was much longer than when we saw it again, near the end of the epi. She took the diamonds from Paulo, and she ran to the beach and collapsed.

The elapsed time of her run was shorter than when we were first shown.

They just didn't show the whole thing the 2nd time through because we knew what happened and what was coming. No need to see the whole thing again. That's my take on it, Tabs.

Just a shortened flashback I suppose -
We don't see flashbacks in "real time" as they are threw the eyes of the person having the flashback - happening in a flash is my guess

Why show the whole thing again when we've already seen it? It's just a dramatic device.
