Ethan was so cordial in his offer of clothes for Paulo and Nikki. He seemed to strongly encourage them to "go inland" to find Nikki's Expose script bag too. Was he this helpful to everyone, or Paulo and Nikki specifically? What lay inland for them?

DeLand, Nikki was saying to Paulo that it had been SIX DAYS since the crash in that scene. So this is way before the Ethan-kidnaps-Claire business. In fact, as we saw once again, that was the night Jack made his "live together/die alone" speech, which established him as lostie Leader.

Maybe Ethan was trying to send them into the jungle to get eaten by the monster! If so, Ethan should be commended for his attempts to get them "smoked" ;)
