Billy Dee was the Cobra

Locke was watching Expose in last week's episode!

It was just before the son of the woman Cooper was going to marry stopped by his apartment..... not that i think there's any relevance here, but it's just another connection.

And Hurley mentions it has been 4 years that the Cobra's mystery has existed. The same amount of time since Locke's Flight of the Phoenix out the window.

Ah ha! Now I'm just hoping there isn't more to this Cobra story...

but i think i was wrong with respect to Billy Dee being 'The Cobra'
cause Hurley says 'so and so was The Cobra?'
did anyone catch the name he said?
or remember what Billy Dee's character's name was?

sounds like Hurley watched the show....and in the scene we saw them filming, i thought they revealed that Billy Dee was the Cobra, so wouldn't Hurley have known that B.D Williams was 'The Cobra'?

unless maybe that episode didn't air before they got on the plane?
Locke was probably watching an earlier episode.

can't see how any of this is important....just trying to put a timeline together in my head.

It was Mr. LaShade, johnny.

Didn't ya just LOVE Hurley's play-by-play of the series? :71:

Billy Dee was the Cobra, and yes I'm assuming the episode hadn't aired by the time the plane took off.

And this is of the utmost importance.

I would pay money for Lando.. uh.. the Cobra to show up on the Island.

"That blast came from the smoke monster! That thing's operational!"

I don't think the episode had aired yet, at least in the US, and that is why Hurley didn't know, until he read the script.

It's theoretically an important tie-in to Locke's timeline, but probably just an easter egg for perceptive watchers/listeners.

That would be GOLDEN. Perfect for a season finale

Expose will mimic our real life Lost show... and since Expose was in season 4 then sometime in Season 4 we'll learn that one of the big main Losties is "The Cobra" aka one of hte big leaders of the others

Actually I like this idea, of course by the time season 4 rolls around we may forget this line from hurley

It was great to see Billy Dee and playing himself even.
Excellent guest appearance.

Exactl what I was thinking when I heard the line. Wonder if this means TPTB are definitely aiming to end the show with Season 4.

It'd be funny if the Island's "Cobra" aka Jacob aka HIM happens to still be Billy Dee himself. That'd be awesome.

Does anyone but me think that there may be some reality-blending going on? Fictional characters/events becoming real, or merging with the real?

bigmouth posted (paraphrasing) that maybe LOST is about the fabric of space-time being torn, resulting in the merging of reality with the alternate reality of the LOST writers (LOST-verse and all the "verses" that inspire them).

That is one of my favorites. He posted in reply to my wondering about the anomaly of Rachel Blake (from the LOST Experience) meeting Jorge Garcia (and I think another LOST actor) in person at an event (ComicCon, or some-such)...and of course, Mittelwork appeared on Jimmy Kimmel...

And I keep thinking that LOST will end with a scene of the Losties finding another hatch (or "Otherville") with TPTB within, surrounded by crumpled up papers, cigarette smoke, pizza boxes, Chinese takeout cartons, booze, and computers...with comic book action figures and LOST action figures on the table and atop their computer monitors...

Reality-Blending....I like that description. I'd also like to read the post by bigmouth. Do you have a link to it? I've thought this might be the case for a long time, but had trouble putting it into words. It's like whatever the losties imagine comes into reality on and off the island and in flashbacks. It's like they are remaking themselves just by thinking it to be true.

Only quoting myself for context:redface: , and to clarify that what I described is a bit different than what you're saying (Losties' imagining things into being, which is a cool theory, too).

The site is too busy right now to allow Searches, but do a Search on posts with "Rachel Blake", made by my username, and you should find that thread where bigmouth and I posted.

I'm sorry, but I just don't remember the name of the thread.:)

and can you imagine him going up to Kate, taking her hand and kissing it and saying "Hello....what have we here?" she'd probably slug him!
