Where has Danielle gone? She literally disappeared. I'm thinking maybe she is following the Others on their trek. After all, Alex is with them. What does everyone else think?

ETA: I was surprised Jack, Kate, or Sayid didn't ask about Danielle's whereabouts before they started heading back.

Yeah that is rather odd that nobody asked about her before they started heading back. Kate or Juliet didn't see her either while they were relatively closeby in the woods. She could've headed back closer to her "home", wherever that is, but I think she really wants to see Alex and is quietly following the Others.

I thought that Kate said something about Danielle? I can't remember for sure. I wonder if they will look for her before they get near the fence?

I think she asked Locke about Danielle, Sayid, and Jack, but that was earlier on before the whole handcuffing thing. While going back to Othersville, Kate knew Locke wasn't there, so she and Juliet looked for Jack and Sayid. Why not Danielle?

Yeah what happened to Karl? Maybe he is living on his own in the jungle. Wouldn't it be crazy if Danielle found him and found out her daughter was dating him?

I hope they find Danielle or that they at least show Danielle following the Others. If TPTB just ignore the whole Danielle situation by not showing her or having the Losties ask where she is I think it would be rather odd.

Danielle is chasing after her daughter Nikki. After sixteen years you think Danielle is gonna loose sight of her daughter now?

I think Sayid is definitely thinking about Danielle, but he doesn't trust Juliet. For this reason he wisely didn't say anything about Danielle being with them when they came to rescue Jack. If Juliet is an Other, then she could relay the info to Ben and Co. that Danielle is lurking around Othersville, waiting for an opportunity to nab Alex. Allowing Danielle to move about freely could come in handy for Sayid, Kate, and Jack should they get caught in a trap set by Juliet.

She's definitely tailing the others! She'll be the one to tell the Losties where they are. She didn't get captured, she was lurking in the bushes, remember?

They didn't ask any further, because Danielle comes and goes as she pleases. After the gas and departures, none of them would figure Danielle would be sticking around.

Danielle's not dumb (crazy, yes, but not dumb). Not only is Alex with the departing Others, the departing Others know the way out of the area without dying like Mikhail. Alex or no Alex, Danielle would know that following these people = getting back out to the jungle at large ALIVE. They'll never know she's following; she's too good at this kind of thing. And we know from her staying back from the Flame recon that she wouldn't be sticking around when it was clear the losties with her were in peril. SHE knows how to survive!

So, no, after the departure, I don't think anyone needed to question if Danielle was around.

Danielle was last seen in the trees near the sub dock, which according to the Dharma map, and common sense, was OUTSIDE of the perimeter fence. That and the probability she watched Alex return or the party taking Locke back to the barracks, is pretty good evidence she now knows how to deal with the fence and can come and go at will.

Untill the writers give me a good reason to think otherwise, I'll have to assume she's just a grieving mother who's gotten her first look at her daughter in 16 years and will tail her wherever she goes till she figures out what to do. I can't believe she'd go back in the jungle and resume her usual routine now.

This initially seemed off topic to me, but after I thought about it somemore, I think its does tie in. First off, to answer the question, I think its fairly safe to assume that Locke also said his goodbye's to Sayid as well. That would explain why Sayid didn't ask about Locke.

But I keep thinking back to Locke's reaction when Kate asked him about Danielle. He refused to say anything, and almost looked sad. My initial impression was that Locke didn't want to say anything because people were listening and the Others didn't know Danielle had been there.

But on further consideration, it seems that Locke knows a great deal more about The Others now, and that his allegiances might have turned (as opposed to him just going along with them to keep learning). If this is the case, I don't see why Locke wouldn't have "turned in" Danielle to the Others so they could deal with her. If he is truly allied with them, he wouldn't want her out there lurking and causing trouble. Maybe we'll find out in an upcoming episode that Danielle has been captured.

I sure hope I'm wrong though.

Danielle is totally hiding out, she isn't as stupid/brave as the other losties...she's hiding out, probably following the others and watching alex...or waiting to help kate

I think Danielle is following the Others but just enough to know where they're going. She hasn't stayed alive on that island all these years to get caught now. She'll make another appearance when the time is right (or rather when TPTB decide the time is right). I hope it's when Jack and Juliet are having a pow wow and Danielle interrupts them to tell Jack not to trust Juliet - that she lies and will continue to lie. ;)

Yes! Kate asks about Sayid, Jack and Danielle and Locke makes sort of a face and doesn't say anything. I hope good John Locke is planning something... just like the last time he tied Kate up so she can escape from Desmond when they first go down the hatch.
