View Full Version : The ending scene [with the happy music]
tiewashere 04-05-2007, 02:09 AM Its been a while since we saw a scene like that. it was nice.
You know what else I noticed...
They STILL have the same extras since season 1...i know becuase there is this one woman thats an extra and she bothers the hell out of me becuase she gives the stupidest nods and facial expression whenever jack talks.
=]

=]hahaha, I know exactly which one you mean.
Dolphinjen 04-05-2007, 03:43 AM Me too.
I love those scenes. I miss them. I loved the scene (although it wasn't happy and fuzzy as tonight's) when they played the Willie Nelson song "Are You Sure." And the scene where Sayid threw the piece of fruit to a surprised Sawyer. I think they should incorporate more music like that. Maybe they're afraid it's too VH-1ish, but I think it wraps up the episode nicely and adds poignancy. Once in a while, it would get irritating if they did it too often.

Is it the older lady with longish, brown/graying hair? She is the one that always jumps out and annoys me.
tiewashere 04-05-2007, 11:43 PM No, she has dark hair and she is very tan. Look for her next episode.
OnAonXM 04-06-2007, 02:31 AM This (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1273-966.html) is the one that I'm thinking of. Is she the one you're thinking of tiewashere?
tiewashere 04-06-2007, 02:25 PM Yes! hahahahhahahaa, she makes the most annoying facial expressions at everything.
PurpleSky 04-06-2007, 03:01 PM Me too.

They seem to have one of these types of episodes every season where there appears to be a temporary status quo. It's another example of the many repeating elements of the show.
The Sayid Thowing Fruit Feel Good epi ended with the chilling 180-degree close-up of a sinister looking Locke on the beach. Talk about a mood swing. One of my favorite moments. Jin throwing his hand up and yelling "Hurley" with Three Dog Night blaring in the background ranks up there as well.

One was this?
100%

I always notice her. No idea why. She just kinda pops out from the background.
PurpleSky 04-06-2007, 04:07 PM When was this?
Trishia Tonaka Is Dead (3x10)
The Hippy Van Episode
Kate731 04-06-2007, 04:31 PM I like these scenes too, once in a while. A show like Grey's Anatomy does this at the end of every episode, and I find that a bit annoying, but Lost has never overdone it, in my opinion.

That was an great scene, I agree. I also like the one at the end of Confidence Man that's set to "I shall not walk alone" (Blind boys of alabama version). Mostly cause I love that song.
gradyboy37 04-06-2007, 05:16 PM This (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage-1273-966.html) is the one that I'm thinking of. Is she the one you're thinking of?
YES! I love this girl. She's the best, most animated, most ridiculous listener I've ever seen. I'm sure she uses more energy listening to someone talk than if she were actually talking.
Dolphinjen 04-06-2007, 05:25 PM She must think that because she's not directly in front of the camera, she has to put more "volume" into her actions (like when people sound like idiots shouting when they talk to someone who can't see  )
Gradyboy, ot/chatty, but is your quote at the bottom of your textbox Deepak Chopra?
gradyboy37 04-06-2007, 05:36 PM I don't know what "ot/chatty means, so I'll just answer here. People reference that quote to everyone, but it was Gandhi that said it first.
and this connects to Lost because....um...well...oh, here we go! Jacob will reprimand the Others for not being the people they claim to be; they've been hypocritical, and they can never change the world if they don't carry out what they believe.
Dolphinjen 04-06-2007, 05:50 PM Thanks...I had heard Chopra say it before, but wondered if he was quoting someone.
I just said off topic/chatty because there are those rules about chatting, etc, keeping it to the chat areas, and I kind of felt bad about violating them.
I, too, loved the "I Shall Not Walk Alone" scene. I had never heard that song by them, but I've come to really like it.
tiewashere 04-06-2007, 06:07 PM I like the ending scene where hurley is listening to the music on the CD player. MY favorite.
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE is when Sun stands by the water and lets the blanket fly off her. thats a wonderful scene.
islandchica 04-06-2007, 07:56 PM I love those scenes! They just kind of represent everything being okay on the island, and show that no matter what's going on, the survivors have each other's backs. *sigh*
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE is when Sun stands by the water and lets the blanket fly off her. thats a wonderful scene.
Me too! Oh, oh and the one where they're all boarding the plane in Exudus pt. 2... That always makes me smile. (Or cry, depending on how I'm feeling, lol.)
I also LOVE the "Wash Away" scene from season 1. Forgot which episode...
tiewashere 04-06-2007, 08:22 PM The filmers and editors and writers are amazing at creating those scenes
Kate731 04-06-2007, 08:30 PM also LOVE the "Wash Away" scene from season 1. Forgot which episode...
I love that one too. It's from the end of Tabula Rasa.
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE is when Sun stands by the water and lets the blanket fly off her. thats a wonderful scene.
I'd forgotten about that, and yes, that was a beautiful scene.
gradyboy37 04-06-2007, 08:40 PM "Wash Away" by Joe Purdy--- one of my all time favorite songs! So many posts I'm enjoying today!:D
WheelOfDoubt 04-06-2007, 08:47 PM my favorite is the scene when Sayid and Hurley are listening to the radio staion on the beach. sayid wonders where this is being broadcast from and hurley says "more like when was this being broadcast"
RIFT IN TIME:eek2: :eek2: :eek2:
tiewashere 04-07-2007, 12:54 AM Haha, I noticed that lady too and thought the same thing about them still using the same extras. However, I noticed the Asian kid first.
There's an Asian kid!
tiewashere 04-07-2007, 03:58 AM Wow, I never noticed him before. :sob:
I like this thread. It takes away from all the madness and action in those other threads.
MarkKligman 04-07-2007, 06:17 AM yup i love those scenes
Lost Lenny 04-07-2007, 09:04 AM They seem to have one of these types of episodes every season where there appears to be a temporary status quo. It's another example of the many repeating elements of the show.

I love when they go a little happy every once in a while...looks like Sawyer is in for some sort of transformation. He has been a good guy lately!
Speaking of the "Tricia Tanaka is Dead" epi...I absolutely loved "Shambala" by 3 Dog Night...awesome epi...my 7 year old daughter and I have watched it many times and it's my favorite "happy" epi. Still have that song in my head...love it!
If you remember, they all came back to the camp and had someone to tell about their micro-bus adventures except for Sawyer...they showed him looking at Charlie, Jin and Hurley as they related their adventure and Sawyer looked introspective...they immediately went to a shot of Kate in the woods. (to show that Sawyer wishes Kate was there to share his story with)
The use of music and happy themes followed by a more serious theme are a recurring trait for sure...happened in "Left Behind" when everyone was enjoying the food and company...Sawyer was holding Aaron...and Sun was shooting daggers through him!
He's got some work to do to make it up to Sun
Is there a LOST soundtrack available? Some great songs on this show!
bluorchid2 04-07-2007, 09:11 AM I found myself looking for Rose and husband on the beach. Miss them.
RodimusBen 04-07-2007, 10:40 AM Another one from season 3 is the boat/Alex/Karl montage from Stranger in a Strange Land, though I can understand why people might be reluctant to remember that one, it was an overly cheesy ending to one of the worst episodes of the series.
LostIslandBaby 04-07-2007, 10:55 AM I didn't particularly like the ending to this episode because it lacked freshness but I loved the ending of Everybody Hates Hurley when he's generously handing out the Dharma goodies. Another ending that sticks in my mind is the one where Rose is comforting Charlie after he had come back from a near death experience. You can hear her praying for him, which I thought was extremely fitting in traumatic situations like that.
I_Miss_Boone 04-07-2007, 11:32 AM It's the quiet before the storm, so to speak.
tiewashere 04-07-2007, 02:53 PM Is there a LOST soundtrack available? Some great songs on this show! Yeah they have it in stores and on Itunes. But, It only has the "orchestra" parts, not the "real" songs they use in the show. Sorry :frown:
Dolphinjen 04-07-2007, 07:51 PM Me too! Oh, oh and the one where they're all boarding the plane in Exudus pt. 2... That always makes me smile. (Or cry, depending on how I'm feeling, lol.)
omg, I just hear that song and I get tears in my eyes. It's so beautifully orchestrated, but I think especially I imagine all the various characters and the depth and complexity of their lives, and how they had NO idea what they were in for (good and bad). I remember Jack's sad expression as he helps - is it Locke? And Locke's polite but haunted smile. God I love that scene. I'm gonna rewatch it tonight....
I love the Wash Away song too by Joe Purdy. I'd never heard of him before that song.
btw, here's some lings to the titles/artists of some of the songs that aren't on the soundtrack:

desmondslosthairstraighteners 04-08-2007, 06:27 PM Does everyone remember the happy ending when the pilot was ripped out of the plane and eaten???
I remember that scene, and then Kate, Jack and Charlie all played kiss chase back to camp!
tiewashere 04-08-2007, 06:29 PM I remember that scene, and then Kate, Jack and Charlie all played kiss chase back to camp!
:rotflmao2:OMG! At least someone remembered it!
MarkKligman 04-08-2007, 09:51 PM about a soundtrack with the actual songs they play in the show....if you go onto itunes store, click music, then click "imix", then search for LOST.....you'll find some mixes that people have put together of all the songs from the show that you can buy. its how i found them.
tiewashere 04-08-2007, 11:46 PM Oh sweet, thanks.
