View Full Version : They could at least take a shower!

I kept screaming at Kate and Juliette to take a shower before they left the Others' camp. They had mud all over them! That couldn't be comfortable. Also knowing this would be the last real shower they would have for awhile, why wouldn't they? And didn't they say they should take what they can carry and head back to the beach? Yet, it looked like they just started heading straight there at the end.

I would be grossed out too, if it was me. I wouldn't have left without showering, but that's us in reality land, in tv land things are much different!!

Well who knows if anyhting in Otherville works since the Others left. Maybe they have no electricity and no water.

Me too, LOL! We'll see if they actually clean up. I noted that Locke had new pants on, but was wearing the same old ratty T-shirt. Details, details. :)

What better way to learn more about the "others" than to live where they lived? Bring everyone from the beach over. Sayid could reprogram the code on the security system (so Juliette wouldn't have that upperhand) and it could be kept on all of the time (so the "others" or anyone/thing else for that matter couldn't pay them an unannounced visit). I mean, they took over the hatch when they discovered it and found out lots of info. why not "othersville"? It may be a creepy thought at first, but why stop at just taking a shower? Just a thought:rolleyes:

Yes it seems quite mad that they would abandon a perfectly fine village to go rough it in the jungle some more. No more food drops, Locke (the hunter) splits. I suppose they'll be eating lots of Jin's fish.

Oh wait Sawyer killed a boar!!! That's a good reason to leave the comforts of otherville to go eat some gamey boar meat on the beach.

My thoughts as well. When the Others have such a nice camp with electricity and running water in place, why not relocate the Losties there? Ahh, logic...

I wondered that as well. My big question is, why did they fall in the mud in the first place? My first thought was, it would be a "Predator" reference where the mud would conceal them from smokey. That didn't work. Maybe, it was just for the fans of Kate and Julliet's rain shower fight with a mud wrestling reference.

Um,didnt they ,like, trip and fell while running away from the weird three headed monster?its not like they did it on purpose.Maybe Damon made them fall on purpose but im positive that Kate and Juliet ,to this point remain, ignorant!
A shower?im sure thats the last thing on someones mind under these circumstances!not even the last!it wouldnt even be on the ''to do'' list

Who's to say anything was running still. If I'm abandoning camp I would shut everything down so no one else can use it. But the others amy return so destroying it would be a huge waste.

Very good points! I think they should have definitely availed themselves of the amenities before heading off. A little looting wouldn't have gone amiss, either.

The point was made (by Sayid, I think?) about getting going while they had as much light as possible left in the day, though. Still, I think I would have taken me a nice, long shower (especially after falling into that mud, as you pointed out!), had a chicken leg and some strawberries, and maybe carried off some clothing et al. with me as I left. If nothing else, a quick shower, I agree!

P.S. edited to add:

There is a whole thread about this elsewhere in this episode's forum, called "Why Not Bring Everybody Back to Otherville". Check it out, it's a good discussion. Basically, the consensus seems to be: it could be a trap, so run, hide or die!

That's EXACTLY what I said as they were leaving. Why would you NOT take a 3 minute shower before going????

Yes to a Kate & Juliet shower scene! Clean up would be a good health measure, provide increased comfort for the hike home and also provide a mental lift for both of them.

In addition their search for anything useful before heading back to Lost Beach Town should have included fixing a good meal.

However I think the Lostees moving to Otherville far from their food sources (Can't rely on anonymous food drops), through Smokie territory into a site whose secrets are known to the Other's just for the gain of shelter structures (houses) that would produce only a moderate increase in comfort with a climate as mild as the islands would be a mistake.

Yeh and there wouldn't be enough time for Kate to wait for Juliet to take her shower, so they'd both have to get in. Woah yeh! Pass the soap Jack!

Oh man what an episode.

Maybe they took the 2 giant hampsters with them when the others left

i would have taken a bath and soaked in the tub for a while.
forget the shower.

and then the looting. i would have at least
taken some toilet paper back to the beach.

i would have taken non-perishable items
like candy bars and tater chips and stuff like that.

and pillows and blankets and stuff from their
houses like clocks and flashlights and
batteries and i would have looked for
a radio or some books.

i would have taken medical supplies,
like pepto, asprin, condoms
and looked in their medicine chests
just like i look in other people's medicine
chests when i go to their homes by asking
them if i can use their "sandbox."

i think i've said too much.

i have never looted in my life.

looters club of america

p.s. oh, as soon as i got close to the beach i would
eat a candy bar and get chocolate all over my face
and then tell everyone, "yeah we've been
roughing it." and then look at their faces.

priceless right?

"lost" deleted scenes

inside ben's home, kate is knocking on the bathroom door.
"sayid hurry. we're leaving."

sayid comes out and says, "okay, i'm ready. lets go."

later, on the way home through the jungle
kate turns to sayid and says, "hey, you didn't flush did you?"

sayid just smiles.

note: i would pay a hundred bucks to
see ben's face when he finds that out.
you think you've seen all of his crazy stares?
that stare would be so funny.

I'd have checked to see if there was some Dharma pizza and Dharma diet cola. But that's just me. ;)

Yeah, I know. When they fell into the mud in the earlier scenes I just cringed because it looked so uncomfortable and gross. If I were them, I'd also look around and steal their things. :P

I can just hear TPTB. They stick their heads into the writers' room and say, "BTW, people, don't forget to write a Kate & Juliet in a mud puddle scene!" :D

Yeah, more soap, shampoo and towels would be nice, too. And napkins. (For the pizza.)

but if they did, you think they would demand a shower scene two. maybe with jules helping kate reach an awkward bit........

on a slightly more serious note, the others just had a ruck sach eack. so they didn't take the kitchen sink with them, did they?

on a slightly more serious note, the others just had a ruck sach eack. so they didn't take the kitchen sink with them, did they? True which may mean they intend to return soon or may mean they feel they no longer have a need for any of these belongings because the mother ship is comming to carry them away to their future homes.. Either way there should be plenty of loot salvage available.

Since they didn't shower in Otherville, perhaps we'll get treated to another "Kate washes up in the surf in just her skimpies + Juliet" scene!

What about the men?!! They need some showers too, don't they. Would love to be there when they film them scenes. Many male leads on the show are gorgeous, but dirty. They need to bathe!!! I love the rugged look just as much as the next girl, but come on!

Oh yeah, babe! I would have definitely gone straight for the potato chips, do not pass "Go", do not collect $200.00!!! And if Ben had a little tub of Dharma sour cream dip in his fridge to go with the chips, well, then I could face whatever they threw at me after that *lol*!

edited to add: Well, I could face anything except my guru, Locke, getting mad at me for being a "pharosy!" That would hurt. ...Still...since he was already gone with the Others and would never know, I'd have to go for the chips and dip. I mean, it's been 80 days, people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carb addiction trumps all other concerns! Pharosy, schmarosy!

After Jack and Sayid say hello Jack says "We should take what we can find and head out while we still have light". I took that to mean they were going to go through the houses to see if they could find anything useful. I also assumed that is when the two ladies and gents took showers. I'm sure Kate and Juliet took all the um "female hygiene" products they could find for the ladies on the beach. All the deodorant they could find too. Sayid and Sawyer have got to be pretty stinky by now. ;)

Kate returns to beach
Sock women: Kate's back!!!! Did you bring back any food from Othersville?
Kate: Better! Tampax for everyone!
Sock women: Yayyyyyyyy!! Hooray for Kate!!:14happy:
Kate: And deodorant and mouthwash for the guys you're sleeping with!!!
Rose, Sun and Claire now join the Sock women: YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!:73happy:

Isn't it funny how glamorous they make everyone look on the island?!! Also how they never seem concerned about things like tampax, or deodorant!! Well I have to say that it wouldn't make for a very interesting show if they talked about such things! Oh by the way, why would Claire shout yay for the deodarant and mouthwash for her man, I know her and Charlie are close, but I never assumed they are sleeping together.

Two women, covered in mud, leaving without a shower?

Folks, not to be rude, but that should itch down there after a while...

That scene was the least believable in the whole series. And that's saying something.
