Ha! I just made this same observation on another thread. Yes, I believe that Desmond is someone the Others cannot control. And how would you eliminate him if he can see the future? A problem indeed.

On BuddyTV they supposedly "proved" that Juliet was staring at Des right before she ties the knot. They used the geometry of some different shots to show that she was looking at Des... I'm not totally convinced; who knows if the pole that she tied the knot to is even on the same set as that picnic table (by the way, where did they get that?)....

Anyways, Juliet definitely stared at someone. There does seem to be some kind of strange relationship/connection between Des and the Others. i say that because Des never talks about them. Except for "of to see the Hostiles now are you?" from the finale, there's been zero contact... Maybe he know's more than he's let on?

I think he knows a heck of a lot more than he has told the Losties. It would be pretty silly for his precognitive abilities to be limited to seeing Charlie die over and over. He must see what's going to happen for some of the others. That could explain his glum disposition.

That sounds like something from a preview, something I don't watch because I don't want to know!!!

How long do you think it will be before we see Des loose it? Like Lenny did....;) I mean....the man looks like he's suffering.

My first impression of the scene was that Juliet meant that Des would be a problem. Probably because I want Des to turn out to be the hero.....I hope they have something big planned for him. I don't know, though, was the key-turning greatness the beginning of the end of his story?

Geesh, I hope this isn't the end for Desmond. Is there anybody out there who doesn't like Des? He is my favorite character, my husband likes him, everybody I know that watches the show likes him.

I've never read anything negative about him...well, maybe killing Kelvin was naughty. :biggrin: But, who doesn't like the guy? There is so much they can do with this character, it would be awful if he lost it or died!

As for the geometry as to where Juliet was looking, maybe yes, but maybe someone (Charlie, Kate, Sawyer) walked over to where Des was sitting! The previews have an way of connecting things that are not connected at all. Ben saying something and then a shot of Desmond could just be a red herring.

I really don't think the Desmond shot meant anything but that Juliet was looking over everyone at camp. That, or she wanted a cup of tea like he had! :D

I think he may know about Desmond and the boat, maybe Desmond left some kind of identification on the Elizabeth. So Ben tells Juilet that he as a problem with a new person on the island, and may prove some kind of problem, i don't believe he has history on Desmond, maybe he knows that Desmond once visited Widmore. A huge problem, can't wait until Juilet talks to Desmond. A challenger appears.

I missed Ben saying "We have a problem" and I've now deleted the episode from Sky+ (bugger!). When did he say it ? Oh and I was wondering who Juliet might be staring at. Up until now, I was under the impression she infiltrated the camp because she knew Sun was pregnant (another mother to experiment on). I even had thoughts about whether the Others had somehow impregnated her. Now I'm all confused (a familar feeling if I'm honest !)

TV Guide readers put their money on Des being the next to go. I don't think they have as much info as we do but that must be their impression.
