why did she need it (other than so she couldnt question where they were going)?
were there any ramafications of her slamming it so fast (other than blanking out before they even took her blood pressure)

I thought it might be part of the initial brainwashing process, but I'm really not sure. It was a very weird aspect of the episode.
More OJ....

I assumed it meant she "drank the Kool Aid".
From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kool-Aid#.22Drinking_the_Kool-Aid.22):
One lasting legacy of the Jonestown tragedy is the saying, "Don't drink the Kool-Aid." This has come to mean, "Don’t trust any group you find to be a little on the kooky side," or "Whatever they tell you, don't believe it too strongly."The phrase can also be used in the opposite sense to indicate that one has blindly embraced a particular philosophy or perspective (a "Kool-Aid drinker", or, as a cynical response to a fanatical claim, "sounds like someone's been drinking the Kool-Aid!").
She's now One of Us.

Its like the red or blue pill. They want to hide all evidence of the island.
