Desmond's flashbacks tonight take place PRIOR to his previous flashbacks. Has this been done for anyone else where one flashback is before a flashback we've already seen ? If this has only been done for Desmond - does it mean something - is it a clue about time ?

Yeah, Locke. We got Locke in the wheelchair as his first flashback, and then all the rest were pre-chair.

ETA: And Jack (flashback events in White Rabbit happening after All The Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues, for example), and Sawyer, and Kate...quite a few people, actually, now that I think about it.

I found it interesting that it appeared that Desmond was NOT psychic in the flashback. So what made him start getting visions? And when?

Kate's flashbacks mostly now are BEFORE everything. The one we just saw was BEFORE she killed her best friend leaving the hospital when her mother had cancer.

Actually, everyone has their flashbacks prior to other flashbacks. The season finale of season one was RIGHT before everyone got on the plane...that was the flashbacks.

The flashbacks have been done both chronologically and non-chronologically for various characters throughout the series.

If you watch carefully at the end of the episode, you see Desmond carrying a crate of wine, on the crate it showed manucafturing date, it was 1989...dunno if this is relevant?

Desmond definitely didn't have the flashes before the turned the key. That is indeed when he began to see the past and how he could have changed it (and was too scared to do so, so far).

I think the boxes are marked with the year the winery started making wine and the bottles are marked with the year they were bottled.

The winery was started in 1989. A lot of company's would have put Since 1989
