did anyone else have clicking on their tv during the scenes between the fisrt and second commercial?

I had it as well with Time Warner HD Digital cable. It's even recorded on the DVR so I can go back and enjoy my crummy cable service whenever I like :(

I use an old fashioned set of rabbit ears and I heard it, too...FWIW.

I heard it too via Comcast HD feed.

How far in was the clicking? Can you give us a time, i.e. 8 min. 15 sec.?

I hope this isn't another mystery to solve. Like we don't have enough already.

Same here! I just got my TV working yesterday and was panicking. Glad to know it's not just my TV. I recorded the episode at a later time and had no problem.. so it looks like it was some problem with the reception on the televisions rather than part of the show.

It must have only happened with the HD feed. I was watching ABC earlier in the evening and the same thing happened so it was not contained to only LOST. I hope that doesn't upset any of you Easter Egg hunters.

I didn't notice it at all watching the East Coast feed. But if it happened DURING the commercials...I was probably not paying that much attention.

We didn't have clicking, but beginning from about the last 1/4 of the rerun, the sound began to warble, like it was underwater. It went on like that for about the first 10 min of Catch-22. I was just about to throw something at the TV!!! :mad:

Yes, we heard it on our broadcast too: east coast over-the-air HD signal.

I never would have even thought to ask if anyone else heard it, but I'm so glad you did because I also thought it might be something going wrong with our new HDTV!

yeah, wow, I thought it was my TV speaker on my crappy 10-year-old TV. It started when Sawyer before he walked into the tent to catch a glimpse of Kate getting dressed. It only lasted a minute or so. I'm guessing it was the HD broadcast since other people heard the same clicking sounds.

I was so pissed because I just had Verizon FiOS setup after ditching Comcast. With my both my Comcast DVRs some of the shows in HD would have occasional skipping with the picture and audio. During Lost the audio would skip a second or so and it was so AGGRAVATING.

So I yelled at the TV, "AND....... PLEASE STOP...NOW... " and it did, strange. Maybe I have Walt powers.

We had the clicking on the HD channel. When I switched to the regular channel there was no more clicking. Then when I switched back to HD there wasn't anymore clicking so I was able to enjoy the rest of the show in HD. TIme Warner is our provider. Good to know it wasn't just them. I'm kind of surprise it wasn't them. I am so disappointed with their HD box. We are constantly exchanging our HD boxes because they develop problems. Frustrating!!!

I watch it on an HD channel and I heard the clicking right around when Sawyer and Kate were talking in her hut. Then the feed flipped back and forth between HD and normal for a while.

The ABC affiliate hear in southern Maine is pretty lousy, anyway. They seem to have a small budget and crappy production on their own broadcasts, so I just thought it was their fault. Glad it wasn't just me.

i heard it, too. over-the-air HD signal via TW cable. is watching HD signals on a regular old tv also why the last 3 weeks of LOST have had bad video, like trying to watch a streaming video over dial-up? did ABC change the way they broadcast this show? that may single-handedly cause me to go get a new hdtv set and box...

In Florida, watching HD broadcast and we also had the clicking. I was ready to throw something!

Brighthouse networks in florida HD feed... clicking and a significant decrease in volume.

Wow thanks for posting this guys. I too just got a new HDTV and heard the clicking and freaked. I quickly ran to my TV to check the connections. So glad someone asked this.

Comcast in western PA had it on HD but I flipped to standard broadcast channel and I didn't hear it. May be just my timing but if so I only had it for a 30 seconds.

I heard it to. OTA HD. I use a HDTV PCI CARD and Windows Media Center. When I restarted it, the clicking was gone.
Maybe it was morse code...;)

It really annoys me how screwed up HD feeds can be sometimes. You expect perfect quality, but I cannot count on my hands the number of times watching in HD that the sound has cut out for no apparent reason. Usually only lasts for about 3 seconds, but it is extremely annoying. Happens about once every two weeks. This problem doesn't seem to occur with the standard definition feed though.

Last night, there was the clicking that got progressively worse, and the volume seemed to decrease as well. I have Brighthouse cable here in central Florida.

YUP! damn Comcast HD broadcasting in Indianapolis. Though for a moment I thought they would come out of the tent and switch to someone making something or banging two things together but alas- seems to be a HD issue.

Clicking on the Cox HD feed in Phoenix, too. No clicking on the SD channel, which was also about 30 seconds to one minute ahead of the HD feed.

I was obviously widespread so not a local satellite or cable issue - either deliberate or from the original HD broadcast source.

Yeah, I had it on Directv HD. I thought it was my new Directv DVR, which has been giving me other trouble. Good to know ti was a broadcast issue, not an equipment issue.

Oh my, I experienced something similar (a little later in the show) but I don't have HDTV. The sound didn't match up with the characters' mouths and I thought it was a huge clue or something because Desmond's voice was coming out of Hurley's mouth!

Then I realized that the sound/video did not match up during the commercials either. :undecide: Oh well......

Hmmm, obviously this was not just an HD thing because we are watching LOST on an ancient Zenith with basic cable and we experienced weird audio/video blips as well. I've wondered for awhile if ABC is broadcasting this show in some kind of weird way because I have a beautiful, clear picture on every other channel, but on ABC there are annoying and obvious little white specs covering the video - it's awful!

glad to hear you post this. read through all of this and everyone was talking about clicks. For my vewing party in MA we had to sit through the entire hour with the audio being about 1 second ahead of the video. Not one click but I can't say which would be worse.

Yeah it sounded like somebody clapping flat rocks together on ABCHD on TW Cable. I flipped to the analog ABC channel and it wasn't doing it there, so it musta just been on the HD signal (<>..<>)

I didnt notice clicks but I finally just have to ask if anyone else is seeing the skips in the video. Every single episode has skips in it. Only "Lost" does this. None of my other shows do it. It usually happens like 2 or 3 times but i only noticed it once last night. I would have to go back to find the exact scenes, but it is constant and it distracts me everytime.

That happened with us as well. I just figured my local affiliate didn't time the commercials well enough, but boy did that tick me off!!!

roy815, what do the "skips" look like? Does it seem like the video is skipping ahead, or is it like a scratch on a record playing the same millisecond scene twice before going on?
