I guess it wasn't Penny and Des was partly wrong in interpreting his visions. Is it Penny's emissaries or is it something entirely different. The Portuguese books tends to lead back to the ice lodge guys, but maybe not.

I don't think he was wrong in interpreting them. He was supposed to let Charlie die and he didn't... thus he changed the "picture".

I dont think saving Charlie could have affected if it was or wasnt Penny. She would have had to already be on the helicopter and ejected before he saved Charlie. If he had decided not too, then parachute-girl wouldnt have miraculously changed into Penny.

IMO, Penny isnt tha type to parachute ever. Nor do i think she would personally travel to an unidentified location that was recently the site of a magnetic discharge. she is for sure a lady who has people working for her that are more qualified to find Desmundo and either bring him back to her, or bring info of his condition back to her

i totally agree with you. I think that Desmond was hoping that it was Penny that was in the visions, but I don't think saving Charlie changed what happened/who came.

Agreed - I think that ultimately, this chain of events will lead to him being reunited with Penny, which is why he was seeing flashes of her.

I agree! I think he kept seeing Penny as she was the one who sent the parachutist to the island to find him. She'll get to him soon, or so I hope!

Desmond saving Charlie is a test, if he keeps saving him he passes and the island will reward him with what he wants, Penny.

Des and Jin seemed to disagree on the location of where they saw the beacon fall (when they ended up splitting up in their search). Does anyone think there might have been two people that jumped out of the helicopter?
