johnnywishbone 04-19-2007, 12:07 AM The whole exchange between Kate and Sawyer in her tent made me laugh....
"I'm up here"
"How about a little afternoon delight?"
"You need me to make you a mixed tape?"
:24:
MaggieRyanJr 04-19-2007, 12:09 AM I'm going with the Ghost story by Jin. I have no idea what it said, but it made me laugh like hell.
South Shore 04-19-2007, 12:11 AM Sawyer to Juliet and Jack . . . "...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?"
jennylee27 04-19-2007, 12:17 AM Sooo many good ones tonight. The whole Superman/Flash thing was excellent.
Yeah, "you guys arguing about who's your favorite other" was classic.
Not a funny, but a great one for a Skater: "You don't have to use me. You just have to ask." Awww.
sheba 04-19-2007, 12:19 AM Sawyer to Juliet and Jack . . . "...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?"
ditto
GettinLost 04-19-2007, 12:20 AM Hurley said something to Desmond about, "Thanks for telling us about the umbrellas, dude".
Tyler Durden 04-19-2007, 12:22 AM During the camera discussion. "Those perverts".
Mine was when Sawyer said we have to play ping pong every 108 mins or the world blows up
:biglaugh:
LockesKidney 04-19-2007, 12:26 AM Definetly Jin's ghost story w/ the whole flashlight deal!
We need a translation of that...
Sawyers Mojito 04-19-2007, 12:27 AM Mine was when Sawyer said we have to play ping pong every 108 mins or the world blows up
ditto =D sawyer FINALLY won something lol
applecrush 04-19-2007, 12:27 AM Shocker - Charlie to Hurley upon finding out the satellite phone was dead
If we don't play ping pong every 108 minutes- Sawyer to Jack
whatever Hurley said to Jin about something not making sense even in Korean....can anybody help me out with this one?
That nasty ping pong serve Sawyer gave Jack when he found out he had dinner with Juliet (i know it wasn't a line, but it was still great)
and my fav.....Thanks for the warning to bring an umbrella dude!
100%
oh, and Kate's awkward small talk with jack. if she had known he wanted the spoon to have have dinner with Juliet, she wouldve thrown it in the ocean!
ame en peine 04-19-2007, 12:32 AM Sawyer's 108 minutes line was great...
whatever Hurley said to Jin about something not making sense even in Korean....can anybody help me out with this one?I thought it's the one with the killer having a hook for a hand... Give me back my arm, or something like that... That was classic.
jennylee27 04-19-2007, 12:36 AM whatever Hurley said to Jin about something not making sense even in Korean....can anybody help me out with this one?
Oh, I know what you're talking about. Hurley is explaining to Jin who it is that fell from the sky, how it's Desmond's girl Penny and he had flashes and blah blah blah. Yeah, it wouldn't make sense, even in Korean. :)
applecrush 04-19-2007, 12:39 AM Oh, I know what you're talking about. Hurley is explaining to Jin who it is that fell from the sky, how it's Desmond's girl Penny and he had flashes and blah blah blah. Yeah, it wouldn't make sense, even in Korean. :)
yeah, that's what i was talking about. thanks!
100%
Sawyer's 108 minutes line was great...
I thought it's the one with the killer having a hook for a hand... Give me back my arm, or something like that... That was classic.
now that was scary....even in Korean!
Dolphincrc 04-19-2007, 12:45 AM Mine was when Sawyer said we have to play ping pong every 108 mins or the world blows up
:biglaugh:
How did I miss that line!!! it's awesome, now I have to rewatch!
Amber 04-19-2007, 12:57 AM My favorite was when Desmond's ex-fiance said something about 'waiting for a Sheppard to save you'. I took it as Christian/Jack sheppard :p
jennylee27 04-19-2007, 01:00 AM How did I miss that line!!! it's awesome, now I have to rewatch!
I thought he said the island would blow up, not the world. But this episode is seriously worth the rewatch, if just for the humor!
My favorite was when Desmond's ex-fiance said something about 'waiting for a Sheppard to save you'. I took it as Christian/Jack sheppard :p
Good call. :eek2:
Selene1212 04-19-2007, 01:09 AM Sawyer to Juliet and Jack . . . "...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?"This was my favorite! :lol2:
Charliesangel30 04-19-2007, 01:12 AM Not a line, but Des using Hurley as a step-ladder of sorts had me rolling, for some reason. Poor Hurley just looked so flummoxed! lol
And... very first post! Woohoo!
kpdjp 04-19-2007, 01:27 AM after charlie picked up the hula girl... "it's not rousseau's, or else a massive rock would be falling on my head." hahahaha
Sarah Mai 04-19-2007, 01:36 AM Shocker - Charlie to Hurley upon finding out the satellite phone was dead
If we don't play ping pong every 108 minutes- Sawyer to Jack
These two lines were awesome! definetly my favorites!
Guinevere 04-19-2007, 01:43 AM "It's a good thing you weren't found by a bluidy shepherd! Otherwise you would now be chasing after sheep!" (Ruth to Des)
The look on Sawyer's face after Kate asked "What's up?" I was afraid there for a second he was going to say something really crude but truthful. And Kate telling him that her face were higher than where he was looking.
There were a bunch of funny scenes but these are my faves.
verily 04-19-2007, 01:45 AM after charlie picked up the hula girl... "it's not rousseau's, or else a massive rock would be falling on my head." hahahaha
That cracked me up too. My first thoughts when he picked it up were "Haven't you learned anything about picking up dolls in the jungle?"
Ladybug_ocean 04-19-2007, 03:26 PM Definitely Jin's Korean ghost story and making Hurley scream. :roflmao:
molly1977 04-19-2007, 03:34 PM Definitely Jin's Korean ghost story and making Hurley scream. :roflmao:
Agree, I found it hysterical that Charlie and Hurley are sitting there like they can understand him and Jin is just telling the story, not caring that neither of them speak Korean. Awesome scene, one of my all-time favorite Lost moments.
TK 421 04-19-2007, 03:43 PM Jin totally freaked me out at the end of the Ghost story, did his eyes go all black when he delivered the punchline or did I halucinate that?
I think my favorites were all from Sawyer, the play ping pong every 108 minuts and mix tape lines were great!
My favorie line was the "ping pong every 108 minutes" line.
But my real reason for posting is to say that:
This episode's great humor and drama prove that Brian K. Vaughan is the freakin' MAN! Everyone go read "Y: The Last Man", it totally rocks the house, even if you're not into comics...
Lockerox 04-19-2007, 04:21 PM Hurley talking to Desmond: "Did you eat those mushrooms Jack warned us about?"
u2loopy 04-19-2007, 04:25 PM When Kate busted into Sawyer's tent right before she "used" him, (after seeing Jack and Juliet together) he said something about how he's been meaning to get the doorbell fixed!! :D
waltisfuture 04-19-2007, 04:30 PM During the camera discussion. "Those perverts".
I missed this. Can anyone elaborate please?
Kerstin80 04-19-2007, 04:32 PM Definitely "We have to play ping-pong every 108 minutes or the island will blow up". That just cracked me up.
Followed closely by
Hurley: "No, it's a sattelite phone" Fumbles around with it. "Damn, it's dead."
Charlie: "Shocker."
The way he delivered the punchline was just awesome!
Oh, and Desmond to Charlie: "I've saved your live three times now, I think I have earned some trust."
Captain_Falafel 04-19-2007, 04:37 PM Agree, I found it hysterical that Charlie and Hurley are sitting there like they can understand him and Jin is just telling the story, not caring that neither of them speak Korean. Awesome scene, one of my all-time favorite Lost moments.
I love how Charlie and Hurley do that with Jin! It made scenes like "Pee on my foot!" and "Ever heard of The Kinks?" very funny too. They just don't let the language barrier get in the way of having a jolly good conversation with Jin.
I kinda found it funny and sad that Charlies last words were almost = "Oh, we could fit Superman with a pair of Kryptonite ballet slippers." (????!!!!!!!)
Imagine them breaking the news to Claire and her asking "Did Charlie say anything before he died?" and Hurley answering "He said Superman was faster than Flash."
johnnywishbone 04-19-2007, 04:38 PM I missed this. Can anyone elaborate please?
It was when Sawyer went into Kate's tent and Kate told him that Jack already knew about them cause he was watching it on camera. Sawyer said something along the lines of 'i thought that camera was broken' and Kate replied with something like "i guess it worked' or 'i guess one worked'. Sawyer then muttered 'perverts', meaning the Others.
100%
Hurley talking to Desmond: "Did you eat those mushrooms Jack warned us about?"
yah, that one made me crack up too
:24:
AboutBunnies 04-19-2007, 04:51 PM Ping pong every 108 minutes
Jin's ghost story followed by Hurley's yell followed by all three laughing hysterically
Mixed tape
Favorite other
I think this epi had the most great lines of any epi I can remember.
For me, one of the funniest/weirdest things was the idea that the guys would think that a camping trip would be fun...heck they live in tents and cook over fires all the time!
molly1977 04-19-2007, 04:58 PM I love how Charlie and Hurley do that with Jin!
OK, I just burst out laughing at work. All, I can say is as funny and heartbreaking as that scene could have been, I am really glad that Charlie lives to die another death...:eek2: ...or get beyond this course correction thing.
Oh... I also loved Jin's "camping", he said it like three times and it cracked me up each time cause Hurley is talking about marshmallows and fires and Jin is getting all excited, but has not a clue what a marhsmallow is :rotflmao:
themanikilled 04-19-2007, 05:03 PM "Why would the Man of Steel agree to a sodding foot race?!..oh sure vibration. What do you suppose Superman would do if he came up to a wall?" Charlie
And even though it is more of a scene, the juxtaposition of Jin, Charlie, and Hurley whistling while walking on the beach.
sheba 04-19-2007, 08:35 PM My favorie line was the "ping pong every 108 minutes" line.
But my real reason for posting is to say that:
This episode's great humor and drama prove that Brian K. Vaughan is the freakin' MAN! Everyone go read "Y: The Last Man", it totally rocks the house, even if you're not into comics...
I'll give you the comedy, but the drama ranged from juvenile to incoherent.
Jedierica 04-19-2007, 09:49 PM Lots of good quotes in this episode. I really liked the running debate about Superman and the Flash especially the line Charlie said about the Kryponite ballet slippers
LadyJ27 04-19-2007, 10:15 PM Hurley talking to Desmond: "Did you eat those mushrooms Jack warned us about?"
Haha, yes! This was my favorite, but the episode was so full of great lines!!
"If we don't play every 108 mins, the world blows up"
"Shocker"
"You don't have to use me, you just have to ask" And I really loved Jin's ghost story, especially with Hurley's reaction.
"I like the part with the bird... there was a bird, right?"
scarlos16 04-19-2007, 10:22 PM I'm going with the Ghost story by Jin. I have no idea what it said, but it made me laugh like hell.
I loved this too, cracked me up even though I have no idea what Jin was saying.
Mine was when Sawyer said we have to play ping pong every 108 mins or the world blows up
:biglaugh:
Definately my fav!
Also loved Sawyer asking Kate my doorbell busted again?
gusthepolarbear 04-19-2007, 10:25 PM okey dokey im gonna go with : talking about whos your favourite other?
personally i think id say tom
nynaeve 04-20-2007, 02:49 PM Sawyer to Juliet and Jack . . . "...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?"
Mine too!
BlackLotus 04-20-2007, 03:04 PM with the sattelite phone
hurley saying - " its totally dead "
charlie saying " shocker "
i think charlie's got the measure of how things go on this island....
Sawyerizms like this"...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?". My two kids, ages 12 and 7 watch this show with me, and love everything Sawyer, especially this line.
Kerstin80 04-20-2007, 05:00 PM Not a direct quote, but another scene that cracked me up:
The four "campers" walking along the beach, towards the camera, whistling (or trying to whistle) the famous song from "Bridge on the river Kwai". Anybody else think of "Spaceballs" while seeing that? :rotflmao2:
lonegunwoman 04-20-2007, 05:14 PM This episode had a lot of humorous lines and situations. My personal favorite was the "...play ping pong every 108 minutes..."
Too funny!! I didn't notice if Jack laughed because I was laughing too hard. If he didn't laugh then the Others removed Jack's funny bone.
Juliezgroovy 04-22-2007, 01:16 AM After Charlie asked something like "why would the man of steel agree to a footrace?" Hurley said "Charity?"
That made me laugh
dharmama 04-22-2007, 07:47 AM Hurley to Desmond, "This is future crap, isn't it?"
Sawyer's comment about getting the doorbell fixed was a favorite of mine, too.
1DocLover 04-22-2007, 11:42 AM I liked when Sawyer was bragging about "Finally, something I can beat you at", and Jack was like "I wouldn't be too excited". (Seeing as the ping-pong conversation was in essence about Kate) - Sawyer bragging - but all the while, Jack not even trying. Loved it!!
I also thought Charlile was pretty good in this eppy. too. Can't remember exactly the things he said, but found myself liking him again.
Great eppy in so many ways!!!
Dr. Suds 04-22-2007, 11:59 AM Hugo's line to Desmond, approximately, "Watch the master", referring to his ability to manipulate someone such as Jin. In retrospect, in my view of what's really going on, this line takes on enormous irony.
Sawyerizms like this"...you two arguing over who's your favorite Other?". My two kids, ages 12 and 7 watch this show with me, and love everything Sawyer, especially this line.
You let a 7 YO watch this show?! I can hardly imagine how I'd've reacted to it at that age. OTOH, I liked Zorro when I was even younger than that, or at least wore the costume, so maybe my tolerance for scary stuff was greater than I remember.
Robert
filtheseahorse 04-22-2007, 01:55 PM Hurley to Desmond, "This is future crap, isn't it?"
Beat me to it. This was my favorite. :)
Dinonut 04-22-2007, 09:19 PM As Charlie is stepping on the line toward the end of the epi, he says something like, "Why don't we just fit Superman with Kryptonite ballet shoes..." I thought that was pretty funny, but you only notice it after watching it again because that moment was so tense.
I also liked when he was holding the doll and said, "If this were Rouseeau's, a massive rock would be flying at my head right now." Nice....
llamalover 04-22-2007, 09:24 PM I loved Jin's ghost story and Charlie's line about the little hula doll not being Rouseeau's because otherwise their would be a massive rock flying at his head. :roflmao:
Not a direct quote, but another scene that cracked me up:
The four "campers" walking along the beach, towards the camera, whistling (or trying to whistle) the famous song from "Bridge on the river Kwai". Anybody else think of "Spaceballs" while seeing that? :rotflmao2:
Yea, Spaceballs was my first thought while seeing that.
My favorite line was the entire superman-flash exchange. It was just so out of place, to be walking through the dark, rainy jungle and discussing the merits of superheros.
